John Wayne Gacy, who was also referred to as the serial killer clown was born on March 17, 1942. He was born in Chicago, Illinois to the late Marion Elaine Robinson and John Stanley Gacy. Unfortunately, he didn’t have a good relationship with his father being that he was an abusive alcoholic who was also strict since he was Irish and Catholic. During his childhood, he would constantly get beaten by his father, and being that he had certain health conditions he wasn’t allowed to do any school sports. Throughout school Gacy was a known target, because of his obesity and with the little friends he had he stood out as irregular to others. He had bad health conditions, which dealt with his heart and caused him to have seizures including him to be hospitalized. John was also molested by one his family friends, which potentially scarred him for life and lead to the beginning of his lifestyle. Outside of his disturbing childhood, Gacy was well known within his community through his company, and his volunteering at children hospitals, and charitable events as, “Pogo the Clown”.
Overview
In this assignment, I will be examining and analyzing the crime of a serial killer sociologically. Gacy’s first offense was in the year of 1967 upon a 15-year-old, who he lured to his home. Once that being done, he used alcohol to help persuade boy to perform oral sex on him among many other youths that he even used money to help trick them.
