I jumped into the t-bird car and rushed to the rumble because I can never miss a fight. If you know me I was one of the best fighters of all time, to this day I have never lost a fight. We got to the rumble and here come the socs in there blue mustang, they hop out of there car and it was on. Everyone started fighting each other so I jumped in and started hitting people, the socs got scared and they forfeited and the greasers won the fight. ran to there car and . We jumped in the T-bird and were gone. We got to the hospital and johnny was laying there on his last breathe. We told him we won the fight and he smiled and was gone. I was so confused because I thought that it was all just a dream. Johnny was the only person that I loved out of everyone.
Summary: It was already past dawn when Johnny woke up. He was still hopeful with Merchant Lyte. He was imagining how Mrs.Lapham would so awkward curtsies, and how Madge and Dorcas would stare at him in his ruby coach. The first thing he would do is take Cilla for a drive and not invite Isannah. At Charlestown Ferry Slip, Johnny washed himself in the sea, he combed his hair with his fingers and cleaned his nails with his teeth. Once he becomes Merchant Lyte’s relative he would be able to buy Cilla a cart and a pony, and Mr. Lapham a bible. And nothing for Mrs. Lapham.
Joseph Campbell has a theory called The Hero’s Journey in where an individual is shown in a mundane world, called to an adventure, and goes on the adventure. In the adventure, the individual goes on the path of trials that consisting of making new friends, new mentors, new enemies, facing new challenges, gaining new skills, and new knowledge. When the individual comes back to their mundane world, they are the master of two worlds through their new experiences they've gained in the adventure. The Hero’s Journey has been repeated in literature and films through many years: two examples that have The Hero’s Journey are the films, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief.
Joseph Campbell is a leading mythology expert and philosopher who studied all myths from around the world and found the “Hero’s Journey,” a pattern or algorithm that appears in common in myth, religious ritual, and storytelling. The Hero’s Journey has three elements, separation, initiation and return. If I think about myself, coming to Hawaii by myself was a separation from my comfortable zone where I was surrounded by my supportive family. First time when I came here, I could not say anything and became quiet because I thought people would think I was a stupid and not understand me. I was afraid of how people think about my language skills. However, I tried to speak from myself, asked people to collect my mistakes, accepted what I cannot do
Jonathan is the main character in the book. He grows from a young seagull who tries to master flight to a wise sage who can bring other seagulls back to life. He learns about perfection, heaven, and learning itself. He learns to disappear and reappear in thin air. He learns from an Elder and he tries to teach the Flock. As a young gull, he is banished from the Flock for his desire to fly higher and faster than any other seagull. Jonathan serves as an inspiration to anyone who wants to succeed beyond the limitations
1.Tariffs It is one of the political issues during the Gilded Age that brought changes in the way politics were conducted. The conventional tariffs were taxes charged on imported products to raise money for agencies that looked after goods and individuals entering America (“Politics in the Gilded Age”). On the other hand, the protective tariff was introduced to so as to govern industries and businesses in America. As a result, high tariffs ensured that producers competed on fair grounds with foreign products, as they raised the price of imported goods, and, therefore, made American products more attractive. Therefore, workers were encouraged to support political parties that supported high tariffs to avoid losing their jobs. 2.Rise and Fall
As I was hunting through the mystical forest Herot looking for the meal of the night.I was to return to the cave by 9 o’clock to tuck in my precious son to bed.He had a fever that kept on going up and down, and the only thing thing that could help him was a small monster in the forest.I felt this sudden pain in my chest.I ignored the feeling thinking it was just a normal heart burn.I killed the little monster and brought it back home expecting Grendel to be in bed sleeping.I flew into the cave and called out to him.
An outsider is not a specific group of people. Some would think that the greasers were the outsiders. But really it could be the socs too. I think that greasers or socs can be an outsider. For example Ponyboy is an outsider but so is Cherry. I think that she was trying to get the point that we shouldn’t give each other labels. We need to accept everyone as who they are. For example Cherry is identified as a soc but she still feels like an outsider. She doesn’t like the fighting and she has a good heart. Another example would be that Johnny is an outsider because he is not like anyone else in his gang. He is shy and jumpy. But also he still has a good heart. I think the point Hilton was trying to get through is that we aren’t all so different
I think johnny is the hero because he saved all of those kids who he could have let them die but he didn’t he sacrificed his life to save their lives but he did because he didn’t want them to die but it ended up backfiring on him and since he broke his back in the church it caused him to to stay in the hospital and he died after the rumble when they were visiting him but ponyboy is a hero to because he helped the kids to but he just got a big bruise on his back he did not end up like johnny did but he was sick all ready and and he also went and participated in the rumble and he has had the roughest week of his life ever and two of his friend have died.
I had to tell the gang about Johnny's death. It frightened me to tell them, I didn't know how they'd react. Once I told them, they didn't openly express their emotions, but I knew later in private they would. Then, we got a telephone call. Dally had contacted us from a phone booth, telling us how he had robbed a grocery store and how now the cops are after him. Figures, that Dally would do something so reckless. We met him at the lot, where the police were chasing him. He swiftly pulled his gun out that he used as a bluff from his waistband, as my eyes widened in fear. Only Johnny and I knew that the gun he carried was unloaded. The policemen fired at Dally and just like that the gang had lost another member. I then comprehended that Dally
What is a hero? A hero is a person who is admired oridealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities. Ponyboy, Darry, and Johnny are all heroic. They did stuff that they didn't want to do, or that would risk their life's. The title is The OutSiders, and the author of the book is S.E Hinton. Everybody can be a hero in some way. Darry, Johnny and Ponyboy were all Hero’s in different ways .
I charged forward, pushing my way through the other warriors. I clenched my teeth and growled as hard as I could, trying to send fearless vibes. On the inside I am terrified- why in Helheim would I ever sign up to do this, what if I don’t make it home to my family? Or worse… what if I get captured and tortured?
Change is inevitable. Whether it be positive or negative, change is constantly happening. More than often change can take you from the known world and spit you into the unknown, where you return a changed person. While embarking on the journeys provoked by change, you are on a hero’s journeys. The hero’s journey was popularized by Joseph Campbell. When describing what prompts hero’s journeys, Joseph Campbell said,
The ability to carry concealed weapons onto college campuses has always been an area of contention. In 1990, Congress passed the Clery Act which created gun-free zones in primary and secondary schools. Around that same time many states passed laws prohibiting weapons on college campuses as well. (Lyons, 2017) In recent years there has been a stronger focus on college related shootings and deaths which has re-ignited the conversation regards concealed weapons on college campuses.
A little advantage can go a long way, this advantage, though, is something else. It all started on February 3rd, a moment of peril, a scary moment, a generous amount of commas, a crash! A car crash! Well, almost. I was riding my skateboard like usual, casually moving along, when I saw a car! but then I noticed something, The car went from 40 to 0 without major impact on anything. Soda was coming out the window but suspended by gravity so I walked over, put the lid back on and, drank the remaining soda. I saved my skateboard and thought, "C'mon, go!" and time started again. "Wait what?" I asked myself in pure confusion. I used this power to take candy from the top of the fridge and cheat on tests, know typical boy stuff, heh heh. I felt like a kid in a candy store, with $100,000,000 that is. I was the happiest little boy until a thought pierced my skull like an inch wide drill. Somebody was going to find out, "Ooh look at that teleporting kid stealing candy" I also felt bad about all the candy I stole, and the stomach ache wasn't helping one bit. I went out despite what I did and thought about it. I apologised for what I did and I went out for a walk in the forest, I really wasn't thinking was I? No, probably not.
Bias-related incidents, including hate speech, are entirely too common at institutions of higher education. When visual expressions of hate speech are found on a campus, the institution’s administrators, as well as staff and students, must quickly condemn the rhetoric, support affected students, and educate others in the community. It is the duty of student affairs professionals within institutions to advocate for students affected by hate speech and to lead the efforts in engaging the community in learning and dialogue surrounding social justice issues in order to prevent such incidents from occurring again. Moreover, it is essential for student affairs
