A few months ago, we watched a little movie in the geography lesson. We watched often movies about world crisises, so this wasn’t very special. But this movie touched me, it made me simply speechless. I never heard of it before and that is what shocked me the most. This movie was about the man who is on the first place of the international criminal list. This movie was about Joseph Kony! You might not know who Kony is so I will first tell you who Joseph Kony is, second I am going to tell you about the invisable children who are tortured by this man and I’ll finish with what we can do against it. Joseph Kony is the leader of the rebel group the L. R. A. in Uganda, the Lord restistances army. For 26 years Kony has been kidnapping children, to make the girls sex slaves and the boys child soldiers. He makes kill them their own parents, and if there is someone not strong enough on in his army he makes them kill each other. The L. R. A. is responsible for 1000 murders every week! And he has kidnapped over a 40,000 children! Maybe the worst thing of it all is: He isn’t doing it to for a reason, he is only doing it to maintain power. This man has to be stopped! The only problem is, 99% of the people have no clue who Kony is …show more content…
The L. R. A. still exists. He changes his tactics often, so it is very hard to catch him. This story of all those childrens made me simply speechless and I hope it made you too. Over the years the awarness of this situation has grown, but it is still not finished because Kony still isn’t done justice! You might think rigth know, yes it is very sad that those children has to live like that, but what can I do about it? Who am I to end a war? But let me tell you, who are you not too. You can make a change, you can give money to an organisation or you can help spread the story of all those children all over the world. There is power in numbers, if everyone knows it there has to be done

During the World War 2 raging against the Axis, and Allies; Baldwin Kuhn a young farm man of 16 had been at his disconcerted feelings; drafted into the German army led by Adolf Hitler. There were two problems, though; first problem was when Baldwin had been 13 years of age; when his graying father was offered a greater job that took the family from America back to Germany, where they had emigrated from before he was born; which meant he was a born American. The second problem; he didn’t agree with Adolf Hitler; even though he had always been proud to be an American, and proud at, of what he believed ; he wouldn’t dare tell his fellow German soldiers who he had admittedly been; he would consequently put his family and himself in danger. This warlord of Uganda is just another Hitler of our world. Kony is a man with a mission to stay in power. He will do all he can to maintain a superior status.Kony has not committed these crimes himself, but has become the rising leader for Lord's Resistance Army
Joseph Kony, an African warlord, gained international notoriety after his violent guerrilla group, the Lord’s Resistance Army, went viral online in the “Kony 2012” video. While Kony has committed numerous atrocities in the past, recently both his power and numbers have dwindled considerably. There are potential threats that require the resources and manpower allocated to the continued hunt for Kony. The United States should not continue the search for Joseph Kony as he is no longer a threat deserving of such attention.
Imagine being snatched from your bed in the middle of the night and forced to commit horrific war crimes at only 7 years old. In Uganda, this sadly isn’t an unusual occurrence. Children and their families live in fear of being captured and made into child soldiers against their will. Led by Joseph Kony, the Lord’s Resistance Army has abducted over 30,000 children in Uganda and forced them to fight in war. These children are forced to become brutal killing machines, and lose touch with their livelihood, morals and ultimately their childhood. A student at MHS should care about the child soldiers in Uganda because children are the future of a country. If children grow up in inhumane conditions and trained to be violent from a young age, they will grow up into antagonistic adults that our generation will have to deal with later on in life.
Child soldiers start off young, using dangerous weapons. One soldiers nickname was one hundred because he started off so young it seemed like a hundred years he had known how to use a gun. Therefore making him the youngest of the group to learn how to use an AK-47. And the worst part of that is, before he even joined the war, he hadn’t had a thought. A single thought to kill. In essence, child soldiers are brutally forced to commit war crimes against their will. I am writing this letter to you so you can do something about it because I, me alone. I don’t have the power to change anything but you do. So I decided to show you, the leader of our nation how the public feels about child soldiers and maybe afterwards you will
For more than 25 years, an army of mostly child soldiers, some barely able to hold guns, led by a man named Joseph Kony have been massacring and kidnapping civilians throughout Uganda. This conflict has since spread out of Uganda to the north and west into other regions such as the Democratic Republic of Congo and areas of southern Sudan. The conflict also affects other key areas of central Africa as Kony and his Lord's Resistance Army has killed thousands and displacing millions of Africa natives. Despite several attempts at meetings in addition to arrest warrants from the International Criminal Court against Kony and his troops, Kony has refused to cooperate and this war still rages on as one of the longest-running conflicts in African
This army known as the LRA was formed in the 80s first known as a Holy Spirit Movement led by a woman called Alice Lakwena who claimed the Holy Spirit had ordered her to overthrow the Uganda goverment. Because the group had no leadership Lakwena's cousin which is Joseph Kony took over as leader and renamed it the Lord's Resistance Army. His motto was that the mission was to overthrow the goverment and rule all of Uganda by using the ten commandments. But because no one wanted to support him he started to capture innocent children and turned them into mass murderers. The people in the army usually walk around the villages as military soldiers as their weaponary varies from machetes, stones and machetes while cutting off people's ears, lips
In over twenty-five countries, many children are abducted and beaten into submission to be used in real life wars. A very famous viral video called “Kony 2012” was trying to get people to help catch the Ugandan warlord Joseph Kony, who has kidnapped thousands of children over the past twenty years. Child soldiers are defined as: children under the age of 18 who are recruited by state or non-state armed groups and used as fighters, cooks, suicide bombers, human shields, messengers, spies, or even for sexual purposes.
For almost 30 years now, Joseph Kony has been recruiting young boys as boy soldiers and girls as sex slaves for his army. However, most people weren’t aware of these horrors until a video by the organization Invisible Children, “Kony 2012”, went viral three years ago. The organization started in 2003 when three filmmakers traveled to Africa in search of a story not knowing they would find friendship and new responsibilities. Ever since then, the Invisible Children organization has worked through social media and other websites to promote support and gain followers to put an end to the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) and had a huge success at one point until some became skeptical of the validity of this charity .
The invisible children group was accidentally found by three filmmakers named Jason, Bobby, and Laren. They had found a child named Jacob who used to be part of the Invisible Children but, he was lucky enough to escape. He was sad because the officers had killed his brother so Jason, Bobby, and Laren had taken illegal footage of some of the camps and made it to be shown to the world. The world needed to know because it was something that had been going on for 20 or more years and they had made a promise to Jacob that they will find a way to make all of it stop so everyone could go back to their families. Joseph Kony is one of the main reason of displacements in Africa because he had kidnapped so many children. Some aren’t children some are
The pain and suffering of the families in Uganda reach to the hearts of people throughout the world. Not only are these children lost to their families physically, but are stolen from their hearts and memories as well. Kony, dreadful leader of his group, the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA), have caused pain and suffering to hundreds of men, women and children over the course of around 30 years (Russel, 2015). Kony and his followers of forcibly armed child soldiers have abducted, murdered, and tortured adults as well as other children in or from their homes (Russel, 2015). In 2012 a campaign was launched to bring awareness to Kony and bring him down (Russel, 2015). It was a huge hit almost instantaneously, but Kony is still out there. If Kony is
Imagine this, a young boy being wrenched from his sobbing mother's arms by local militants, kicking and screaming. These mothers are forced to watch their child being taken away, all the while knowing it is the last time they will ever get to see their child. These children are then forced to enter violent and dangerous groups where they often must hurt and kill other human beings. Some of these children are even forced to become military sex slaves for these organizations, constantly being abused by their captors until it becomes normal for them. This may come as a shock to you in the great country of America, but it is a common sight in countries around the world. There are more than 300,000 such children around the world. These children are as young as seven years old when they are taken into these horrible groups. Some of these children aren’t even brought to these groups against their will, but are lured into gangs during their impressionable years as a youth.
