Thomas Jefferson wrote in the Amendment I that “The basis of our governments being the opinion of the people, the very first object should be to keep that right; and were it left to me to decide whether we should have a government without newspapers, or newspapers without a government, I should not hesitate a moment to prefer the latter.” People have a desire to know what is exactly happing in their community, their country, and also the other side of the world. In fact, journalism is the intermediate agent to disseminate the news and knowledge as widely as possible to audiences. People would propose their own opinion rather than believing in what government tells them, and the public opinion would affect government’s action.
