We were standing in the airport in Aruba, and at that moment I had no idea how we got into that mess. Our clothes were drenched; each one of our faces exhibited emotional distress.
“What are we going to do, guys?” I asked, hoping that someone will respond with a bright idea. But no one did; we all just stood there.
A FEW DAYS BEFORE
It was the night of prom and everyone was getting in their limos to leave. Normally everyone takes a trip to wildwood for a couple nights after, fortunately, my friends and I had saved up money to travel somewhere exotic. It wasn’t until recently when we decided to go to Aruba.
We all piled up into the limo; it was Will, David, Frank, Brian, Ashley, Agi, Saniyah, Nick, Ashley’s brother, and me. I don’t

He stood in front of me, and we were face to face.
“I just wanted to let you know, you left your ticket in your bag. Your plane has three famous people on board. And we wanted to inform you that harassment of any kind is prohibited. There will be announcement made at your departure gate.” The man stated.
I replied, “May I ask who the celebrities are?”
“Taylor Swift. Kevin Hart. And Bill Gates. But as I told you before, you are not permitted to go near any of them. Do you understand me?” he intimidated.
I answered him with a bit of excitement in the tone of my voice, “Yes!” He started to walk away, and I knew it was safe to let out a little scream. I finally walked through security safely, and caught up with everyone else. It was ultimately time to board and we gathered in a single file line to give our boarding passes to the flight attendants. Stepping onto the plane itself was the world’s best feeling. I could feel my body get tense and my face lit up. We took our seats and with my luck I was stuck with the middle. Due to the circumstances, I dealt with it. Being that it was a 10 hour flight, I needed ways to keep myself occupied. Therefore, I reclined my seat and fell into a gently sleep.
It was about more than half way into our flight and I was abruptly woken up by what seemed to be a lot of turbulence. Turbulence is a feeling that gets me extremely sick. Turbulence reminds me of roller coasters when you reach a high dive drop and my heart
In the months, weeks, and eventually days leading up to my flight to Germany the panic was gnawing away at me. Despite the fact that this wasn’t the first time I was venturing out without my parents or even my first time on a plane, it was my first time for a myriad of other experiences in my life. My first international adventure, my first time living with a family that wasn’t my own, and my first time being surrounded by people speaking a different language; all of which began with a simple decision to cross the threshold between the jet bridge and the plane.
I rushed over to check in and retrieve my boarding pass. Lately a lot of planes have been going missing, which is all I could think about the whole time. “Flight 23 is now boarding.” I carried my carry on baggage onto the plane. I looked down at my boarding pass and realized that I was already at my seat. There was a man sitting in my designated seat. I was too nervous about the flight to even question him. I sat down next to him. I looked out the window and noticed in the distance that dark cumulus clouds were being formed. There was a strong wind that hit my side of the plane, furiously shaking the whole aircraft. Having hope was the only thing that came to mind every time negative thoughts would
I had not flown since I was in second grade. Getting to fly again made me overjoyed! My grandparents were flying to Midway Airport from Las Vegas, so they decided to have my brother, Jonathan, and I fly with them to Memphis. After about a half hour of waiting, we finally saw my Nana and Papa. The four of us hadn’t seen each other since our trip to D.C. a few weeks prior to this. We were really happy to see each other! My brother, grandparents, and I waited on the plane for at least forty-five minutes before it took off. The wait was extremely long and tedious. When the plane finally took off, the fun part started. I received a soda, peanuts, and I was able to chew my sweet mint gum. The plane ride was joyous...until the last ten minutes of the flight. I get extremely stuffed up in the head when I have too much dairy, and that day was no exception. For the last ten minutes of the flight, it felt as though I had
You are in an airport waiting for your plane to arrive. You've never flown before, and are more terrified than you can ever remember being. Everyone has told you the supposedly comforting statistics - "millions of planes take off each day and there's only a handful of crashes," "flying is safer than driving." You know rationally that there is no reason to be so scared, but regardless your heart is racing, your palms are sweating, and you're light-headed. Simply the thought of being up in the air, out of control, makes you feel faint. Finally the flight attendant announces that your plane has arrived. But as all the other passengers line up to get onboard, you grab your luggage and walk straight out of the airport,
My first experience on a plane was unforgettable. The pilot told us to turn off all electronic devices and buckle up for departure. He waited about 15 minutes before he pulled off. My ears popped vigorously at the rising altitude. However, despite the pain going on in my ears, I couldn’t help but laugh. Unfortunately, I was seated directly next to my younger brother Johnny. I looked over to him to see if he was experiencing the same excruciating pain I was experiencing. He was. The hilarious part about it though is that he was crying. It was absolutely hysterical! My mom scolded me for laughing at my younger brother, but I just couldn’t stop laughing. He eventually stopped crying once we were about twenty thousand feet in the air. I had the window seat so I had the advantage of looking out the window. The view was astounding! It was sunset and the sun gleamed over the clouds like a field of buttered mashed potatoes. I felt like I was in Heaven while the plane glided through the clouds. It made me anticipate our destination even
For many turbulence is often just a minor inconvenience. The announcement over the pa to return to your seat often interrupts the movie or show we are watching; sometimes the bumps spill coffee all over our tray table. Unfortunately for the passengers on board British Airways flight 911 spilled coffee was the least of their worries.
I had never been on an airplane. My stomach felt like I had just eaten rotten fish and I was about to throw up. I was so excited to go, but at the same time I was scared because I had never been on a plane. We waited in the airport for at least an hour. Finally our flight was called, as I walked on the plane my heart was about to jump out of my skin. After the flight attendant had went through all the rules and we put our seat belts on the plane was going to take off. I thought the worst thing about the flight was taking off and landing. I didn?t like taking off and landing because my ears popped. Other than the fact that my ears popped taking off and landing the flight went smooth, we didn?t crash. When the plane landed, I couldn?t wait to stand on solid ground again.
Flight 375 now departing for Quebec, Canada. The sound wakes me up. I run onto the plane and buckle up and fall asleep. The intercom wakes me up. All I can hear is whimpering and a few babies. I ask the person next to me what happened.
My family and I were so excited that we didn't even sleep the night before. We spent our Thursday night watching movies and talking about what are plans were for the trip. Once the clock hit 4 o'clock in the morning , we left our house and were on our way to the airport. The airport was quiet and peaceful. I could smell the freshly brewed coffee once I set foot in the airport. We checked in, then waited patiently for our flight to board. Suddenly we heard on the overhead speaker, “Flight to New York, New York is now boarding, Flight to New York, New York now boarding.” Once we boarded the plane, we settled in and got comfy. The flight was fairly smooth with little turbulence and the sweet sound of babies crying filled my ears. Once we heard the pilot's voice telling the crew to prepare for landing, my excitement grew big.
The flight was like any other flight. As my butt hit the seat of my chair I was instantly out, no real recollection of what my first flight was.
The light to put our seatbelts on glowed as the captain spoke to us and flight attendants acted out safety instructions. At take-off my stomach was filled with butterflies, but I wasn't scared. My body was pushed into the seat but I pretended I was the captain of a fighter jet. When we were stable I discovered that flying wasn't that bad. And the ocean looked beautiful out the windows! I put on my CD player until the played the in-flight movie, Planet of the Apes. I didn't like it so I kept listening to my CD player all the way through dinner. I fell asleep but the sound of the captains voice woke me. He was telling us there was an hour left of the flight. Flight attendants asked us to stow away our bags and prepare for landing. Butterflies were fluttering in my stomach again as I anticipated the landing. I felt the plane lose
“All passengers please fasten your seat-belts we are preparing for take off.” We were departing the O’Hare Airport in Chicago headed to Macedonia, a small country in Europe nearby Greece. It was summer time, everyone was out of school, and worry free. I was eight years old at the time, young to this world and never experienced other cultures this far from home before. I was over excited my self with joy to be visiting, both my parents also very happy to go back to their home country and visit their families. Ive been told stories before about this place, about how it’s a land of beautiful mountains, lakes, that is filled with the nicest of people. I couldn't wait to get there, but I was stuck on the airplane for another 10 hours. But eventually
I decide to look and see what's on the table in the middle of the room. They are plans to fly to this moon that the telescope was pointed at, but they weren't related to NASA or any other space program. So I will take them to NASA, but first I need to get out of this building, they are catching on to me they know what i've done and what i’ve seen. They are starting to come in all directions, but I can’t let them catch me, there is one door that says do not enter, but why not I am going to get killed if I don’t.
On July 31st, 2017, my trip to Singapore commenced with a four hour flight from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia at seven o’clock in the morning. Despite having woken up just a few hours after midnight and running very low on sleep, I was euphoric that I was finally given an opportunity to visit such a multi-cultured country. As the airplane began to ascend, I leaned back into the stiff seat and gripped on the armrest because although I have flown a couple of times in the past, I always seemed to get nauseous and apprehensive. However, my nausea soon subsided when the airplane levelled out and the flight attendants strolled along the aisles to distribute snacks. Shortly after, I peeked out the window and admired the thin wisps of clouds in the dawn sky until I succumbed to my much needed slumber.
As soon as the door opened, the heat hit me. It was like putting a hot iron in front of my face. But it felt even worse as there was a slight wind which pushed the heat towards me. My body was surrounded in a blanket of heat and I even started to sweat slightly. My uncle told me to wait by the lift as he went to collect the car so I wouldn’t have to walk as far and drag my suitcase along. While I waited, I took time to look around at the surroundings. I could see mountains which stretched towards the clouds and the airport behind me. There were a vast number of people walking around from their flight looking drowsy and with no energy. The frequent red double-decker bus also came and a few planes flew above my head. I didn’t even have to look, but I could hear the planes departing and arriving. The planes all looked the same in the sky, big and white with some sort of logo. During the wait, I took a few steps to take away the cramp. Although I had trainers on, I could feel and see that the floor was new. The concrete looked
