During my senior year of high school, I had the opportunity to become a Junior Ambassador for the Chamber of Commerce of Walker County. Being a Junior Ambassador for this organization was a great experience. It taught me how to be responsible, hardworking, and has prepared me to hopefully become a Bevill State Ambassador if I get the opportunity. Based on my experience as a Junior Ambassador, if I had the chance to change anything in Walker County, I would change the fact that there is not as much community involvement as many would hope for. Being involved in the community is something that I strive to do. My generation is becoming the face of tomorrow. I think it is very important to show the people of my generation what it is like to serve
Through my participation in volunteer programs at the WakeMed hospital, Marbles Kid’s Museum, and Stop hunger now I have gained an understanding of the importance of community involvement and the difference it can make to help a fellow neighbor in need. In addition to volunteering in programs related to STEM and healthcare, I also have worked with Raleigh Parks and Rec for my Eagle Scout service project. This project allowed me to become more involved in my community and understand the steps which I can take to better it. As a HOSA state officer, I would make it a priority to engage with my fellow members and encourage and assist them to become more involved in their communities, so they can be the change they want to see. I want to use my experience through the numerous community programs I am a part of to inspire and HOSA members in the value of giving back and the reward one gets out of
My effort to serve my community have been an immensely important area that I always try to expand on. From my hundred and seventy service hours, I have learned that giving back even in small amounts positively affects the lives of the people involved. My favorite memories of serving my local area is during the special NJROTC ceremonies when I am able to see the wonderful faces of veterans and military families when we present the colors or the veteran with a flag. Through school, I have been able to see the faces of incoming freshmen in my workroom mature into the present sophomores and the students today. In my church, I am apart of the Ushering team which assists with the service every few weeks. Through this, I am able to see the bright
I wish to be a member of the National Junior Honor (community of people/all good people in the world) because to be a member of this famous/respected organization means so much to mejust to be invited to be one of its members. I would love to be a member of this (community of people/all good people in the world) because all of my life I have lived by a standard of nothingless than the best and I think by being in this organization it will continue my trip of excellence. All of the activities I have ever participated in I have not done for recognition or praise, the gradesI have received I have not done for recognition. I have just done it because I believe that successcomes before work only in the dictionary. The places I am trying to go and
I think I should be in the Junior Honor Society. I have met the requirements to receive this opportunity. I would not let this opportunity to waste. I care for the community and do what ever service to help it out. I help do services for the library when they need it. For example on March 10,2017, I helped make capes for sick kids and then gave them happy birthday cards for the birthday kids. I help out my community by helping people shovel their driveway. Like some of my neighbors can't do it so I ask if I can do it for them for free. I look out for people to make sure they are ok. I am a captain of a football team because of my great leadership skills that can be useful. I put effort and time into my work. Around the house I am a role model
Christmas break is over and the Spring Semester has begun. The seniors are acting a little sluggish and are starting to avoid their work. A phantom disease, something that has never been diagnosed among anyone, is now taking over the senior class. Senioritis has now kicked into effect. Teachers know that this epidemic is going to run through the halls every year starting around this time and that it is inevitable. This ‘disease’ has been invading schools for many years. Every year students get this so called disease and often ruin their last year of highschool or college. Students can see many effects to know they have senioritis, can do many things to avoid it, and only one thing to get rid of it.
The two things that I can say without a doubt in my mind that I have done that have made a difference are my club, Irmo Arts Outreach, and my work at Lexington Medical Center(LMC) as a volunteer. Irmo Arts Outreach has left an impact more on the community than anything else, and the volunteer work at LMC has changed me more than anyone else. Irmo Arts Outreach was a dream I had, which I was able to make into a reality with the help of a few friends. What we do is go to the VA hospital to perform musical pieces for veterans, to let them know we appreciate everything they did for us and that they are not alone. I started the club, I organized our visits to the hospital, and I got permission for them to let us perform there. On our first visit
Although I was not old enough to vote in this past election, I still have found ways to be active in ways other than voting. Over the summer, I represented the Tri-County Rural Electric Cooperation, my electricity provider, in Washington D.C. In order to qualify for the trip I wrote a letter regarding a current issue in electricity, the federal regulation of our electricity. On this tour I met other students from within the cooperation district and from other districts from across the United States. More importantly, I met the officials, who we elected to represent us in the House of Representatives. In this meeting with our representative, Glenn Thompson, we covered issues such as creating jobs, the upcoming election, the Supreme Court justice vacancy and other controversial topics that dominate every news channel. While we toured other major points within the District of Columbia, the national mall, the capital building, the House of Representative and the Senate House, and many others, our district’s representatives showed true citizenship for our area. We learned of many political policies and stories of our great nation, a necessity for an exemplary citizen.
As we slowly walked into the cold hallway on the third floor, I asked Daniel a few questions just for us to get acquainted. See, when we were supposed to meet our senior buddies, Daniel was attending a PATHS photography class, meaning that this was the first time we had met. I asked him about his freshman year as we looked for a place to sit down, and he told me he had actually transferred to Casco Bay from Deering in his Junior year. Suddenly I remembered my mom, a social worker at Deering, mention something about a former Deering student who was currently a senior at Casco Bay named Daniel. I asked him if he had known my mom and he told me that he did, and that it was funny how things happen. We started warming up to each other well
It has increased my leadership skills more than I could have ever imagined. I have been able to effectively make county fair decisions, including enhancements to current activities, changes to the schedule and funding decisions. As a group, we have organized, set-up, and run a County Pork Chop Dinner for over 300 people to raise money for the 4-H foundation. I have been able to encourage more participation in activities that were poorly attended. I have assisted in the set-up of countywide project workshops and events. Participation in our county's government day, has allowed me to shadow a county government official, prepare and ask questions, learn the importance of their roles in our county and express the importance of their continued support of 4-H for our county's youth development. Through Ambassadors, I have really been able to take my leadership abilities seriously and make a change in the 4-H
Urban Dictionary states that Senioritis is “a crippling disease that strikes high school seniors. Symptoms include: laziness, an over-excessive wearing of sweatpants, athletic shorts, and sweatshirts. Also features a lack of studying, repeated absences, and a generally dismissive attitude. The only known cure is a phenomenon known as Graduation.”
Senior citizens are the people who are most likely to take multiple medications due to the occurring chronic conditions as the aging process continues. Given the several medicines they take, they are ironically the age group that is very much sensitive to medication side effects, both therapeutic and negative.
Nurses are dependent on by people, because everyone in life needs medication. I chose to do my Senior Capstone Project over becoming a Nurse, because I feel I am the right candidate. Throughout this research paper I would like to introduce many circumstances a Nurse has to go through, and steps it takes to get to where these life changing leaders are today.
As a student and upcoming young adult there is only so many things I can accomplish. I plan to try my hardest in making my community come together as one. So therefore my first plan of action is to start
I really loved the ambassador program, because it helped me connect to perspective students and really make some of their first memories here amazing. It was also amazing to keep in touch with them and hear if they were accepted to APU or not. It helped build new relationships that I have kept since I have met them and they still constantly ask me to pray over them which I find amazing. It has also really helped strength my relationship with God and learn more about my beliefs through the questions they was asked. I feel that I had just tried improving my relationship, but never really reflected on the things I are already believed and why I believed them. So through the ambassador program I was able to connect with God on a new level in which I was able to understand my faith more and connect with students were a real blessing to have even if it was only for one night, because those relationships will really last since they were rooted in Christ.
My first day of senior year had been just like every other year, except my schedule was very basic. The goals I had in mind were mainly outside of my time in school. I had been taking college courses online to better prepare myself for college and to eliminate costs in classes, so I had to make sure I passed all of them. Another goal had been to save money from my job to accomplish personal goals after I exit high school.
