Justification of Silas’s Actions

In the book, The Da Vinci Code, Silas quest to find the Holy Grail first is justified because of his goals, his past, and his faith. Firstly, he regrets the deeds he has done trying to find the grail, such as killing the Priory leaders, but his goal to save the Church and bring the world to God, in his mind, outweighs the wrongs he has done. He believes the teachings of Jesus, “.. the message Silas had been taught from the beginning, and the message he held in his heart. And yet this was the message the enemies of Christ now threatened to destroy,” and that by protecting the “message” of Christ by doing what he must to find the Holy Grail, his actions were justified.
