Justified In Waging War Dbq

Satisfactory Essays

The American’s were not justified in waging war against the British. The British were actually paying a lot more in taxes than the american colonists. Whately and other British officials thought that since they fought for our advantages that we should in turn agree to pay higher taxes to compensate for the war that was fought for our benefit. The declaration of independence depicts King George Ⅲ as a tyrant who abused his power over the people but in all actuality he was recurringly and then permanently mentally ill for a part of his reign and in Britain is called “the scapegoat for the fall of imperialism.” Also restricting them from expanding west was a good choice, given that they did not want another war on their hands with the Indians.
