20 years to life! Sentence is finally! These are the sentence teens hear and/or need to hear. Murders, rapist, and other criminal are being released every day after only very short and lenient sentence. Who are these criminals you might ask? These criminal are juveniles, who commit heinous crimes. Juveniles who commit violent crimes should be tried as adults for their actions. The juvenile justice system was originally created to provide rehabilitation to offend of minor crimes such as shoplifting, truancy, and vandalism. Minors’ todays take advantage of this outdated system and leniency and committing adult crimes that they believe they will get off easy for in juvenile court. Juvenile that remain in the juvenile justice system will receive rehabilitation for the crimes the commit rather than harsh sentence in a prison facility. This need to change! Kids growing in today world are full of violence. Kids bullying kids, make them unhappy depressed and to the point of taking their own life. Kids getting abuse at home or domestic violence is taking place with the parents, making the kids lash out with frustration and angry , and taking it out on innocent people. This has to stop as well. You would think kids that that grow up in that type of hostile situation the kids who grow up to be total opposite. But that not true. As a matter of fact, more kids who grow up in that type of situation would more than likely grow up in that same situation or worse. Majority of these rebellious children grew up in home with violence, witnessing violent acts, and it is almost certain that child will adapt the same tendency to engage in violent acts.
