Saints Michael and Theresa Youth Ministry of the combined parishes: Saint Theresa’s in Kenilworth, NJ and Saint Michael’s in Cranford, NJ has been the epitome of good and positive in my life. The program itself along with all who have gone through it, have taught me how much difference one person can bring into the world, and how much stronger that difference can be with a team of believers.
The first settlers came to Apex NC in the 1860s. Not too long after settlement, the town was incorporated in 1873. Most of the history of Apex is derived from the railroad system that went through the community. Even the town’s name can be traced by to the system. As the highest point along the railroad between Richmond, Virginia to Jacksonville, Florida, the town was named Apex.

Crawford County, Kansas is very familiar to me; it is where I was born and raised and now, as an adult, it is where I work as a nurse. Barriers to healthcare exists in every community. There is a high amount of poverty in Crawford County that contributes to barriers to access to healthcare. Furthermore, Crawford County has several stakeholders that influence the health of the community and advanced practice registered nurse (ARNP) practice. In this assessment of my community, I will identify Crawford County, as well as prevalent health care barriers and important stakeholders in my community.
I was always the kid in my family that enjoyed philosophical debate, and now with my recent love for African-American culture and history, I feel that the Telluride Association Sophomore Seminar would be just up my alley. Sitting in a room with a handful of other African-American high schoolers that have the same fire for learning and discussion as I would be wonderful, and possibly would foster a plethora of great new friendships. The workshops lead by the adult professionals would also serve as a good networking opportunity as well as the chance to understand what career opportunities would possibly available to me. I am a young intelligent poor African-American that has Haitian heritage living in Orlando, attending a predominately caucasian school on a magnet.
Another non-profit organization called, KFB (Keep Florida Beautiful) is a state affiliate of KAB (Keep America beautiful). For centuries, societies around the world have attempted to create their own versions of heaven on Earth. Founded in 1848 in upstate New York, the Oneida Community is one of several attempts to create a utopian community in 19th-century America (Hillebrand). Led by John Humphrey Noyes, the people at Oneida united under Noyes’ teachings and philosophies which included the ideas of complex marriage, mutual criticism, and communalism. Despite Noyes’ desire for success, the Oneida Community ultimately failed due to the unconventional nature of many of its policies, which ultimately uprooted the long-term sustainability of the society.
I would be honored to be a part of the 1794 Living Learning Community because surrounding myself with people who have similar goals as I do will positively influence my first year of college. Establishing myself in a program that is as passionate about volunteering and making the world a better place as I am will help me build friendships with other students on campus. Being in an environment with others who are dedicated to make a positive difference in the world is the best experience I could have for my first year of college. The 1794 Living Learning Community will engage me with other like-minded students who share a passion for serving others as well as self growth. Having a community to be actively involved in will greatly better my freshman year at The University of Tennessee.
Rutgers University offers numerous options similarly to other colleges and universities, however this university is notable for their vibrant community and a wide variety of backgrounds which I hope to become part of. Since I was a child I was in my own and my only goal was to have a good future. Having only 10 years old I had to migrate to this country; my only option was to leave my family, friends and culture to undertake an unknown life. People often say that life is hard, and indeed, it is; but hard work and perseverance maintains people standing still. Without having a clue about this “new country” I was completely lost in a new culture and school system. Confusion was my shadow, I didn't have support nighter advices that could help
The Oaks is a lavish country club community that sets the standard for those who want to enjoy a taste of the good life in Osprey, Florida, which is just south of Sarasota. With over 1,000 acres of pristine land and three distinct, gated neighborhoods, many residents of The Oaks describe the community as paradise. The Oaks rests comfortably between protected preserves, palm trees and fully grown oak trees.
I've been reading your letters for about a year (I think, not entirely sure) and have been following the Cicada project during this time. It is by far one of the most philosophically pure communities that I have found within the blockchain community. I could not agree more about the state of crypto becoming heavily centralized. The direction things have taken are disappointing but not surprising really. I find your narratives and ideas are realistic and optimistic, a balance must social critics have a hard time achieving. I have been reflecting a lot on how to save us, and not just myself. What does it mean to live in a world of abundance but growing scarcity? How do we transform the system we currently exist in to ensure the most
The community rotation was very challenging. At the beginning I thought I would be educating veterans about overall nutrition and referring them to nutrition programs designed to prevent disease and promote health. Nonetheless, it was a lot more than that. First of all, I had just finished my food service rotation and had no have the chance to interact with any patients. Thus, I had to learn quickly how to work with the Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS) which is the software used to enter patients’ information and write notes (Department of Veterans Affairs, 2005). After one day in my community rotation I was already seeing patients on my own and writing notes.
LAH is the best community I have been a part of since coming to UT. I do not think my college experience so far would have been as smooth without it. Specifically, there are three programs that have made me feel like a welcome and active member of the LAH community: SEAL, LAH 102H, and LAH Student Ambassadors.
Engaging with my community is important because I been helping people volunteer around me since middle school and continuing in high school because of the help I received in elementary. I wanted to help the elementary children because of all the support and help that I received. Helping them makes me think of when I needed help and received through people. I mostly helps with volunteering around with little kids in different elementary schools at my school district. I want them to be safe and help them during their hard times. I wanted to help people because I wanted people to understand what they are learning and have a good education. When I’m volunteering I help keep the children safe and cheer them on when they are competing.
