Psychologists often refer to the period of life known as adolescence as one of the most difficult stages of development that an individual will endure.
It has been stated that adolescence is the time when an individual forms his/her own sense of identity. A sense of identity is defined as “an organized sense of how our own personality traits, values, and beliefs fit together in defining who we are.” Therefor, the development of a sense of identity is, in fact, the basis for a stable adult personality.
Certain responsibilities accompany this development of an identity, such as the commitments "to oneself, to one's family, to significant others, and to the various subgroups in society of which one is a member."

With Frog Fountain serving as a center for all activity, the Kadelphian students meet on a bi-weekly basis; during these meetings there is an opening prayer session, a candle lighting ceremony, and an open discussion or forum involving all of the students present. The members discuss private and public issues which they attempt to resolve through peer support and interaction. After the forum is complete, the candles are blown out simultaneously, and a closing prayer is recited. During the ritual ceremony, all Kadelphians wear a small pin bearing the symbol of Kadelphianism: a diamond shaped badge with the inscribed letters TCU and a pair of hands clasped in friendship.
The hierarchy of the Kadelphians is based on the leadership and dedication set forth by its members. The Grand Kadelphian, or leader of the students, is chosen by majority opinion; the other leading Kadelphians are chosen by the Grand Kadelphian based on merit, scholarship, and service to fellow students. I wish to be apart of the National Junior Honors Society because I have always been a determined and hardworking person and being accepted would continue my journey of greatness. In all the activities I have participated in, I don’t ever do it for acknowledgement or respect from others. I do it for my enjoyment and success.
Fundamentalism is a strict adherence to a set of ideas or beliefs that are conservative in nature. It is a pejorative term usually associated with religious fanaticism. Usually, this is what comes to mind when there is mention of a fundamentalist. Being chosen to be a candidate for a membership for the National Honor Society is such an honor to me. It shows that I have worked hard in all aspects of my life to show leadership, success, excellence and service, despite the many challenges I have faced along the way. It also proves to myself that I have worked hard to maintain my grades in ninth, tenth, and some of eleventh grade while maintaining a part time job, and volunteering at a barn in my hometown.
It is an honor to be chosen as a candidate for membership in the National Honor Society. Academics, leadership skills, service abilities, and character are four principal parts of a superior student. I believe that I am inclusive of all these aspects needed to become a part of this prestigious group. Becoming a member of this organization is important to me, because it will help me get into an excellent college and push me to work harder in school.
Students are nominated by their teachers and guidance counselors, and are judged on their intellectual engagement, creativity, and commitment to community. I was presented this award at the annual academic awards.

I was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on February 22, 2002 to Matt and Rachel Eilers I was born at Mercy Medical Center. On the twenty third of February I got to go to my home at 7526 Cattail Ct. NE, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. My room had blue curtains; I still can remember it. My brother was born on October 11, 2006. At the age of 5 years old I had brain surgery due to my Chiari malformation. I went to kindergarten on August 20, 2008 at Holloway House. My preschool and kindergarten teacher was Mrs. Varn.
Why should you be selected to join the National Honor Society? After much research on the National Honor Society, I learned that one must demonstrate the qualities of scholarship, leadership, character, and service in order to be considered for membership into the National Honor Society. Therefore, by showing that I possess each of these four qualities, I believe that I can contribute to the Dearborn High School community as a member of the National Honor Society. Mariam-Webster Defines scholarship as academic study or achievement; learning of a high level.
The National Honors Society boasts of members with significant academic accomplishments, selfless hours of community service, and strong leadership capabilities as a representative of the school’s excellence. Becoming a member of the National Honors Society is a prestigious honor. As a student, I strive for excellence in my academics and have made the honor roll every quarter, showing my aim and dedication to reaching my highest potential. I try not to compete with other students, but with myself. My academics are the result of my hard work, and my dedication towards grades correlates to the dedication I have towards becoming a leader and a role model for the community.
The word “Christian” in Colorado Christian University is more than just a belief shared amongst the Faculty and Student Body. It is the foundation on which all aspects of the educational experience are built. Beginning with a strong Statement of Faith, which aligns with core beliefs of the National Association of Evangelicals, the University proclaims its belief “in the Bible as being the only authoritative Word of God, that God exists in the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, as well as belief in the salvation and resurrection that is only found in Christ Jesus” (Statement of Faith at Colorado Christian University, n.d.).
