Yet another Kanye West outburst. This time it is a Thirty Mile Zone (TMZ) interview live streamed on May 2nd 1:40 PM PDT. Kanye West discussed his views and opinions on the president Donald Trump and 400 years of slavery. The interviewer inquired Mr. West about his support of President Trump because Mr. West posted a picture of himself wearing a Make America Great Again (MAGA) hat. Mr. West continues his rant about free thinkers and why he and President Trump have “Dragon Energy”. Later, on the topic of slavery, Mr. West states “When you hear about slavery for 400 years -- for 400 years? That sounds like a choice,” The public wants to know if Kanye is just looking for publicity to promote his new album Love Everyone? Or is he genuinely stating his personal views with the public? The American Broadcasting Company (ABC) posted a news article to criticize Mr. West’s outburst on the TMZ interview …show more content…
West and his comments on free thinkers, President Trump, and slavery Wednesday May 2nd 2018. They sourced the material from a TMZ interview. CNN covered the backlash the public had on his take on slavery. They used the hashtag IfSlaveryWasAChoice. CNN agrees with the public on that Mr. West should not of said what he said about slavery and that he is very wrong. Again this news source only uses select moments from the TMZ interview and they exclude most of the explanation from Mr. West. This CNN article goes into detail about Mr. Wests music and how it ties into his personality, his self reflectiveness on his song Love Kanye saying he also misses the old Kanye to mock his fans. CNN uses tweets from members from the African American community making sarcastic comments about slavery being a choice furthering their opinions on Mr. Wests comments. The only thing left out is the rebuttal Mr. West had seconds after his famous quote “When you hear about slavery for 400 years -- for 400 years? That sounds like a
Kanye West also known as "Yeezy" is American rapper, fashion disaster, and also music producer. People may say that Mr. West is our youth of today voice. He has made a tremendous mark in the music and fashion industry. As we all know Mr. West is known for having his moments. It is safe to say that he has the best and top “omg” Moments, such as interrupting Taylor Swift at the VMA’s. Kanye in the begging when he first came on the hip hop scene was this calm, joyful, his music in my eyes was the most different music out at the time, just because he wasn’t rapping about what everyone else was. Kanye was one of those joyful guys, everybody wanted him on his record or produce it. Then a tragic event occurred where his mom died. After then you see
In his spoken word song “I Love Kanye”, West pokes fun at the media’s egotistical perception of himself. He raps, “What if Kanye made a song about Kanye? // Call it ‘Mr. Old Kanye’, man that’d be so Kanye // that’s all it was Kanye, we still love Kanye // and I love you like Kanye loves Kanye…” (I Love 1). This is evidence that Kanye isn’t the blind, egotistical, out of control superstar. Kanye West is just like everyone
Eartha Kitt once said “greed is destructive. Greed destroys everything.” Greed in society causes people to stop thinking and do whatever they feel. Greed destroys society because people only want money and they do not realize what goes on in the world. They do not realize people suffer and not everyone looks forward to everyday. A greedy person does a lot for money and does not use their money to help society. An ambitious person works for what they want and uses their money to help other people, not just for their own purposes. Kanye West’s greed causes him to use his money on himself. Oprah Winfrey, on the other hand, uses her ambition and money to help society and the community. Both Kanye and Oprah inspire other people with their work but greed takes over Kanye while Oprah fills with ambition. They use their money in different ways and both have different responsibilities. Kanye West uses his fame and fortune to get money and does not spend the money as wisely as Oprah Winfrey. Using her past and personal experiences to help other people, Oprah uses the money for charities which helps others cope with the struggles in their daily lives. Kanye poisons society with his greed by spending money unwisely while Oprah continues to better the people by donating money and helping charities.
With the conclusion of the bridge, Kanye West’s verse begins and he begins by comparing a woman’s black, cocaine-covered skin to zebra stripes. He then states in the fifth line, “We formed a new religion...” As the verse unfolds, we can see that Kanye West lives this life where he places the highest value on sexual pleasure and exploration with drugs. As long as sexual partners are open and trusting of one another, it is okay to go outside of their relationship for sex. He believes monogamy limits life to only one love. Kanye talks about a girl he met during a crazy night. He says she had “Two tattoos one read ‘No Apologies,’ the other said ‘Love is Cursed by Monogamy.’” Kanye believes that monogamy kills and limits love, so why does society believe that it should limit it’s love to one person? Kanye ends his verse by stating “When we die the money we can’t keep, But we probably spend it all cause the pain ain’t cheap, preach.” Kanye West is honest in his verse. When we die, we can’t keep the money or the material possessions we gained
Kanye West likely seeks reinforcement and loves attention, negative or positive from individuals he does not know, or is not familiar with because of his constant need for attention. He acts the way he does due to his thought process and erratic personality/ personality disorders.
He then says how he himself can not celebrate the fourth of July due to his skin color. “This Fourth of July is yours, not mine. You may rejoice, I must mourn.” He says this because only white people are the ones who are celebrating their “freedom.” The slaves still have to work for the white men and nothing really changes for them. He goes on to say that the slaves are not really free because they are still slaves and are not being treated fairly. Towards the end of the speech, he is saying how no other nation is as cruel as the United States and that no one else in the world can compare. “Go where you may, search where you will, roam through all the monarchies and despotisms of the old world, travel through South America, search out every abuse, and when you have found the last, lay your facts by the side of the everyday practices of this nation, and you will say with me, that, for revolting barbarity and shameless hypocrisy, America reigns without a rival.” This quote suggests that no matter where a person goes to look in the world, if they were to get information on abuse on other nations, it would not be as cruel as it is in the United States and that no other nation comes
During NBC's celebrity telethon for Hurricane Katrina victims, rapper Kanye West went off script and declared that America is not helping the victims of the hurricane fast enough because of the fact that most of the victims are African American. He

The best way to get a four spot on the Billboard Hot 100, is by rapping about something everyone will go through, a heartbreak. That is what Kanye West did in “Heartless,” a song about a heartbreak he went through with former fiancee Alexis Phifer. The song debuted as a single but was later put on his 808s & Heartbreaks album. The song explains nearly everything about his relationship. They both made mistakes, but she’d act as if hers were minor. That is why he states, “I’m gonna take of tonight.” He emphasizes the word tonight, to prove he is exhausted and wants to be taken seriously. But he then argues himself by asking why they always end up late night on the phone. Which proves who is the intended audience. Simply, anyone that has gone through something similar, sometimes ends up on the phone with them late night with remorse. West’s tone in is angry in this song. He was tired of his ex-fiancee, who left him at his lowest point. When his mother had passed away just months before he was finished working on this album. Both of the women that he loved the most have left his life, in an instant. Kanye just began working on his music as a way to overlook the trials set ahead of him. He released this song and it was only the second time he used auto tune. Apparently auto tune can get you a 5x platinum record, mind that’s five million sales.
“Yo Taylor, I’m really happy for you…I’ll let you finish. But Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time!” (West). Most people if they don’t know anything about Kanye West, they know this quote. When anybody hears his name everybody always has an opinion. Some people love him, while a lot of other people hate him, each for a variety of reasons. Though most people only see the arrogant and egotistic side of Kanye, the more important side that people don’t always see is the hardworking musician. In order to fully understand Kanye’s motives and to fully appreciate him, people have to know how he got to the point he is now today.
Leading up to the release of the album, Kanye premiered the song “New Slaves” on buildings across the globe. New Slaves set the tone for the album’s assumed political thematic approach, a seemingly popular decision. He outright calls out corporations stating “Fuck you and your corporations y’all can’t control me”, a line he admits may have caused the lack of promotion for “Black Skinhead”, another quasi-politically driven song that was composed to be a radio smash hit. Both of these songs on their own are fantastic. They’re not only well inspired politically driven hip hop songs, they’re arena anthems with ‘Black Skinhead” bordering on punk rock. “Middle america packed

From being known to creating compose hip-hop music, a fashion icon and establishing a foundation with his mother to being seen as the most hated celebrity in the entertainment industry. Kanye West took it upon himself to defend his opinion when it came to the winner of the Best Female Video on the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards. By taking the stage and grabbing the microphone from the country music star Taylor Swift and basically stating that she did not deserve the title. The event left the audience and TV land very stocked. What some may not realize is that Kanye West displayed multiple stereotypes that society may think African Americans possess. The stereotypes, which were displayed, were drunkenness, outspokenness and the fact that a
