Plot Events:The first major event in this book is that Karana is left alone on the island. This event is major because no one would want to be stranded on a deserted island all alone. It is uncommon for a young girl to be left by herself on a large piece of land.It is stressful, terrifying, and lonely to survive by yourself. You never know what is ahead of you. Another major event that took place was when Karana encountered the Aleuts again. This is major because she has already met them and suffered from them because they took her father's life away so, she really doesn't want to talk to them. Once more, the Aleuts hunt otter and leave very few alive. The last major event is that a ship came to the Island of the Blue Dolphins to take Karana to Santa Barbara. This is why this part of the book is the climax. Resolution: The solution to the problem was that a ship came to the island of the Blue Dolphins and took Karana to Santa Barbara. One detail is that Karana saw the ship and the men on the ship took her. This shows how the problem was solved. Theme:I think the theme Scott O'Dell wanted me to learn was "Make the best out of a bad situation". I think this because Karana had to deal with living alone and doing the things she needed to do to survive. Though it was difficult, Karana had determination and perseverance. This is why I think "Make the best out of a bad situation" is the theme of this
My first theme is don't give up. The theme of don't give up is a important theme because she is always running into issues. When Kira is born at the beginning of the book she learns her father has been taken by beats. A few pages later her mom dies to a unknown sickness. They burn all her stuff as to take precautions in case the sickness was contagious. Another way the theme was important was when Vandara took Kira to the council of guardians to try and make her go out to the field because she had a disability and they usually gave disabilitated kids to the beasts at birth. She could not give up hope that she would be sent to the beasts and at the end she was allowed to stay and got the job as the weaver for the singers robe. This shows that people can push through bad situations and are able to profit from it. You should never give up at anything you do.
The theme of this book is to be strong through the toughest times. This theme is shown throughout the book when Kira is the only one alive in her family, Anabella passes away, and even when Matt was lost. Another theme could be trust your instincts. Kira has all these thoughts about the council, Annabella, beasts and many more but she keeps them to herself. Day after day more thoughts pile up. If Kira were to trust herself, her life would have a greater quality. As you read more of the story the theme becomes a larger part of
The climax included all of the juicy details that keeps the reader until the end. The author of the novel wants the reader to feel many emotions. The author portrayed suspense throughout the story as well as excitement. The two feelings make the reader interested in the book.
As the subject of the first section of Doris' novel, A Yellow Raft In Blue Water, Rayona faces many problems that are unique to someone her age. Ray's mixed race heritage makes her a target of discrimination on the reservation. Problems in her family life (or lack thereof), give Rayona a reversed role in which she is the mother taking care of Christine. In dealing with these issues, Rayona learns a lot about herself and others.
Annabella teaches Kira a few things about dyeing her own threads but later dies. At the end of the story, Kira finds out that her father is actually alive, and she meets him for the first time. In this essay, you will read about the main conflict, the setting, about the characters, and some of the fantasy elements that were used.
1. What does Juana attempt to do at the beginning of the chapter to the pearl? Why?
Theme is the message of the story that the author wants the reader to take away from the story. In the short story “Seventh Grade” by Gary Soto. The theme is don’t pretend to be someone you are not. For example, Mr.Bueller remembers his story about how he tried to impress his girlfriend by renting different cars every time they had a date. This led to him to running out of money. He pretended to be someone he was not. Victor also tried to be someone he was not by pretending to know how to speak French fluently to impress his crush, Teresa. Luckily, no one pointed out that VIctor didn’t know French, so he wasn’t embarrassed in front of the whole class, including Teresa.
Now into full action packed climax, almost thinking it would start getting more simplistic, Charlotte completely full out failed the plan of taking muskets from captains quarters with Zachariah and Mr. Keetch, having the whole crew rebel against the captain. Mr. Keetch had told captain all along. Later on being nearly chased to death by Captain Jaggery, he slips, he falls, he dies. Instead of being scared for life, instead of keeping cooped up in a room, instead of having nightmares about what Charlotte had just seen, she was placed Captain, yes a 13-year-old girl was made captain the rest of the voyage, no doubt, no fear, nothing but pure boldness was filled within
The main theme of this novel work is a powerful journey that lead unknown strangers on this dull island where each one of them life is at stake between survival and fate. The author’s overall message to society is far the intended audience to know how justice needs to be served. The way the author Christie use each element such as characterization, conflict, and style to enhance the theme with the characterization she pin out points from the begging of the novel to let the beginning of the novel to let the audience know that this vacation trip that each of the strangers think they getting is going to turn out to be something more than what they all expect. The conflict again are within each character their self’s and the author make sure that in this novel there’s pin points that the
Lastly, in the novel, Nobody’s Secret by Michaela MacColl, the climax also shaped the overall theme of the novel. For instance, an example to show this would be in the middle of the novel when Emily meets the dead man’s cousin it is noted by the author that, “ She [Emily] sniffled and dabbed at the corners of her eyes. ‘ Then please, Mr. Langston, tell me everything you know’”(MacColl 138). This shows that Emily is trying to find evidence from the dead man’s cousin because she needs more evidence to solve the mystery. This proves that Emily is not giving up on the mystery since she is still looking for more evidence for a conclusion.
Apollo is one of the most important gods and is the god of many things. Apollo is my favorite myth because Apollo has very many abilities. Apollo is the son of Zeus and Leto. He is associated with so many activities such as music, poetry, art, archery, sun, medicine, light, knowledge and several more. His forename is Phoebus.

In the eighteenth century, a French writer named François-Marie Arouet, with the pseudonym “Voltaire” wrote a novel called Candide. Voltaire was one of the leading writers of the Enlightenment. He was born in Paris in 1694 and died in late May of 1778. Of all his works, Voltaire is best known for Candide, a story of a young man called Candide who is a disciple of a philosopher named Dr. Pangloss, who was himself a disciple of Leibniz. The story follows the adventures and travels of Candide and his companions throughout Europe. Candide is an example of eighteenth century writing style: with a lot of vicissitudes and crazy incidents. Moreover, in Candide, Voltaire gives a refutation of Leibniz’s theory that this is the best of all possible worlds.
The resentment within the young girl’s family is essential to the novel because one can understand the young girl better as she makes her decision.
Initially, Marina is isolated and detached from the world she once knew. She begins in a tone harsh and cold. “It would stay a cold and empty book, with no secrets.” Her tone is blunt as she describes herself as the “nut case, the psycho with the deformed face” and the “silent freak” suffering from “anorexia of speech”. The main aspect isolating Marina from growing and
