Karl Lagerfeld was born in Hamburg, Germany. He was born on September 10, 1933, although it wa never actually confirmed that its ture to date. He actually removed the ‘T’ from his name to make it more professionally commercial, he also made a book. His father would bring condensed milk to Germany. His mother was a Violinist and at the dinner she would talk about religion. His sister lived in a wealthy home growing up, he has another sister from his father's first marriage. He started as junior assistant then later advanced to an apprentice. It was a demanding position for three years. In 1961 he started going and doing his own thing. He had a clothing line put out for Chole Fendi. His fur coat line was put out for her line. He was known for instyle, up-to-date clothing lines and fashionable. He would often go to thrift stores, take old wedding dresses and deconstruct them and do them for a better modern day look. He then became a designer with Jean Patou to work on the haute couture collections for a launch.
During the 1980s he became a huge popular fashion designer. He was very popular in the press and people loved his ever changing styles, as well as his social life. During his career he developed many types of track records. He made a ready-to-wear clothing line. In 1984 he built around the idea of intellectual sexiness. Over time his line became known has bold ready-to-wear fashion lines. In 2005 he came out with a new line called Tommy Hilfiger. He can speak several languages and owns a bookshop in paris. He used his own book as a guide to lose 90 pounds, his diet consisted of eating tuna and blackberry mousse. He thought that fashion was the healthiest motivation to losing weight. He later revealed that dieting isn't fun at all and he got bored with eating the same food everyday.
In 2005 lagerfeld sold his own brands, but Tommy Hilfiger stayed in full design. In march he spoke of his mother, thanking her that he had never smoked. She hated everything second rate. He never held a cigarette, his mother said “if you smoke, your hands are always on show and yours aren't particularly nice” he wanted to please her, thus never picking one up.

He too joined the Nazi youth forcefully, but later quit unknowingly during Helmuth's plan to dethrone Adolf Hitler. Working with the Muslim American population a social worker should apply the skill of cultural competence. A social worker demonstrating the skill of cultural competence is important when working with Muslim Americans because it allows the social worker to grow in his or her awareness. Growing in the awareness of the Muslim American population is of key importance as it allows the social worker to exceedingly help the client and getting to know the client in depth. With that being said, Muslim Americans have cultural values that may affect the treatment options and the way the social worker communicates with the client; illustrating the importance of the social worker growing in his or her awareness in the clients culture.
On February 12, 1947, Christian Dior, a 42 years old largely unknown couturier launched his collection. Before the debut of this collection, he only had meagre success in the fashion industry but on that day he made history. With his debut collection, Dior created whimsical designs which celebrated sensuality and decadence, reminiscent of Russian Ballet and Belle Époque (Mcauley, 2017). Fashion has been around ever since ancient times, since the time of the Romans, it survived the world wars and is yet today a business with rapid changes. Fashion started off as an art form, a way for the riches to show their social status with unique and innovative designs that only they could afford. It was a way to separate the social classes of the society. In this paper I will include the creator of haute couture, and how the following designers developed couture, as well as having leading names in today’s ready-to-wear industry. The list is long, but I chose to focus on the three most important designers of the modern fashion industry.
Alexander McQueen was a fashion designer born in the United Kingdom in 1969. He went from dropping out of school at the age of 16 and starting an apprenticeship at Anderson and Sheppard, too being one of the most respected fashion designers in the world. He later studied at Central Saint Martin's College of Art & Design and obtained a degree in fashion design. McQueen began designing at a young age when he would make his sisters dresses for school, but the 90’s are when his career took off. Since then he has won awards, designed for several celebrities and had numerous fashion shows.
