People visual that not all girls can be courageous when it comes to standing up for themselves or fighting for others, but in the novel "Hunger Games" Suzanne Collins states that Katniss Everdeen is courageous when it comes down to the family. People usually see that girls are weak and are easy to run over. Then there are people that look and see that girls are worth something and that are actually the strongest people you will meet. In Suzanne Collins "Hunger Games," she uses that Katniss Everdeen is courageous through the characteristics of Katniss going out hunting for food for her family, Katniss taking her sister place at the reaping, and Katniss fighting for herself and Peeta. But by her also helping out around the house with her younger sister Prim. In the novel "Hunger Games," the author talks about how Katniss Everdeen goes through the meadows to get to a fence that is forbidden for District 12 to go across but Katniss goes anyways to hunt and together food for and her with the skills that her father had taught her before he passed away in the mines. The braveness that is in Katniss here is how she takes the chance to go across that fence that is supposed to keep District 12 people in and she goes to gather food for her and her family. But she is taking a chance that could cost her life by doing something for others.
