Each year there is one male and one female chosen from each district to participate in the annual Hunger Games. Prime, Katniss, Gale, and Peeta are all from district 12 and when the time comes to pick a participant, Prime, Katniss’s sister is chosen. Katniss then volunteers to take over for her beloved sister, and Peeta is chosen from the boys side. They are then rushed to the capital to start their training for the games. Peeta works at the bakery so he is good at camouflage and throwing heavy things. Katniss if very good at archery and with a bow. Their job is to get sponsors while they are at the capital. When they go in to be evaluated, Katniss shocks the sponsors by shooting an arrow into the apple in a man’s hand when they underestimated her. That earned her a very high evaluation score and more sponsors. Peeta then claims to have a crush on Katniss in hopes of making her look more desirable to get more sponsors as well.
