New Jersey v. T.L.O. was an important case concerning the rights of the accused and had to do with the exclusionary rule. This case furthered the knowledge of the exclusionary rule that is mentioned in the Fourth Amendment. It was decided that the exclusionary rule applies to searches and seizures that occur at school by the officials.

Milton Kuyers is a son of factory worker who grew up in Jenison, MI. He attended Calvin College and graduated with an accounting degree. He worked in the public accounting atmosphere for more than 5+ years when he realized that he wanted more of a life with his family. In order to make this change happen he took a 40% pay cut and joined Sterling manufacturing company as its new CFO. He later became the President of this company at the age of 33 and has been president of companies ever since then.

T.L.O. and The New Jersey State School system.T.L.O.was found in the lavatory smoking by a teacher and was brought to the Vice Principal's office. The vice principal searched her purse and found illegal substances and turned them into the legal authority after contacting them and her mother. The student claimed that it goes against the fourth amendment because it was an illegal search and seizure. Their dispute was whether the school had the right to search and take illegal substances found when they do search the students.The case got to the supreme court by appeals through the lower court systems because it dealt with the interpretation of the fourth amendment.

An official searched the bag and found cigarettes,marijuana, and a list of names of students who owed T.L.O. money, she argued that her Fourth Amendment rights against unreasonable searches was violated. To be honest, the majority of the topics or cases discuss in the course were interesting in their right. They touched on all aspects in criminal justice,but in a more thought provoking manner. Our first discussion post on the flexibility and stability of the Constitution helped me further understand the goals of the constitution. I have not had the opportunity to study the law from that perspective since my undergraduate studies ten years ago. Unit three’s discussion involved Wisconsin v. Mitchell and Apprendi v. New Jersey. This was a favorite as well. This case viewed racism and bigotry from both sides. Those cases express that hate does not have one particular color. I will continue to agree that Mitchell’s right was not violated (Wisconsin v. Mitchell,1993). The New Jersey State Department of Education received government, state, and local funding for youths ages 5-17, as part of the 21st Century Community Learning Centers Program. The question is; how can the states revise and disperse the amount of funding allocated for after-school programs for the current number of children enrolled? How can we raise awareness about the higher enrollment after-school programs offered for children of all ages? The current data shows the ratio of children enrolled versus the number of children not enrolled, offset the amount of dispersed funds, and varies state to state. The New Jersey Department of education allocates the funded money towards after-school programs housed at public schools with a high enrollment rate while other states do not. This leaves a huge gap in society with not enough funds creatively used towards youth programs. Children of all ages should have access to an after- school educational program and support from within their community. Common motivational goals set forth in the evaluation for this program are, for children to receive the enhancement of moral values, equality, and diversity through after-school educational programs within their local school districts. Institutions of higher education often struggle to find strategies that successfully engage students in learning. In the article “Faculty Work, Student Success,” Colleen Flaherty attempts to address this problem by analyzing the benefits that undergraduate research has on students and faculty. However, she points out that faculty have a hard time balancing the demands of focusing on teaching students while keeping up with research, without sacrificing the quality of one or both pursuits. Flaherty uses the College of New Jersey, as an example of an institution that took a risk and did a complete reformation of their curriculum focusing on the teacher-scholar model and undergraduate research (Flaherty, 2014). Since the implementation of the program in 2004, it had benefited both students and faculty alike such as increased retention and recruitment rates and increased student-faculty interactions (Flaherty, 2014). The new curriculum lightened the faculty teaching requirement to three courses a semester than were focused on undergraduate research and scheduled time to pursue their own research while encouraged to include students in that as well (Flaherty, 2014). While this new model has worked well for this university to engage students in learning through an emphasis on undergraduate research and balancing the faculty’s workload by changing their curriculum, this model may just not be feasible for some institutions since they vary greatly in size, focus, and resources, etc.

A county’s development or shrinkage would be based on its political stability. The major changes in a society could only occur with the contribution of the politics which would act as a medium to bring changes in the society. The ‘Third World Nations’, especially Africa, had the more impact of the transformation as compared to other Nations. The modernization of the country was the main motto of the politics.
