One of the main elements in resolving conflicts is the ability to forgive. Forgiveness is both an important part of it and it is of great significance. Having the ability to show forgiveness is one of the first steps in the healing process, after a conflict has occurred in order to find peace and be able to move forward. The purpose of this paper is to explore and research how much of an important and significant role that forgiveness does play in the ability to resolve conflicts. James 5:16 “Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working” (Holy Bible ESV). When a person is able to admit when they are wrong, and take accountability for their actions, that is the first step in being able to not only forgive others but also themselves. Forgiveness may not happen come immediately, and an ‘I’m sorry’ may not be enough for one person to be able to forgive the other, but one it is a good first step and it opens the door to having reconciliation to be completely successful. Colossians 3:13 “Bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive” (Holy Bible ESV). When a person has the ability to show and give forgiveness, they will be able to find peace and be able to lead a well-balanced life as God intended., if forgiveness is unattainable it does effect very part of
