The way the world is surrounded by technology, not being able to understand technology is difficult but not “death in life”. Today, almost anything on paper is easily accessed on a laptop or smartphone. However, if you're technologically illiterate, you still have access to everything on paper, you just may have to look harder for it. In the text, Carole says “Now I can read, I can read books, anything. I can write. In English and French.” When I read that quote, I think of Carole's troubles when learning to read on paper, now she has to learn all over again on a laptop. Personally, I find it very hard to read off of a smartboard or laptop and I can only think of the struggles coming Carole's way in the 21st century. Some challenges could be,
Error 1: In the video, they state the phrase, “You’re in INTERPHASE ‘til DNA starts to REPLICATE.” However, this is incorrect because the cell is still in interphase when DNA starts to replicate. This part of interphase occurs in the synthesis (S) phase, which happens after G1 and before G2.. The S phase is the time in which the cell copies its DNA in preparation for mitosis. They can correct the incorrect phrase by using this phrase: “You’re in interphase even when DNA replicates.”
When developing a message THE RIGHT WORDS are important. There are many factors in choice of word that should be considered they include the audience and intent, expectations, educational level, and profession. These are all key elements in developing a presentation. In my opinion I think that there are two important factors that must always be taken into consideration which are the expectation of the presentation as well as the education of the audience. Which these two this helps the presented to develop accurate means of communication with the audience.
In the book, A Tale Of Two Cities, Dickens starts with the famous quote, “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times...” (Dickens, Chapter 1). The book takes place in two areas, London, England and Paris, France. The people of France, specifically the peasants, were suffering through starvation, high taxes, and overall neglect from the government. Meanwhile England is beginning to shift into the Industrial Revolution, which can be considered one of the country’s highest point in history. They were able to mass produce and thus strive with the money the earn from their products. In comparison, France was in crippling debt from the wars they had managed to involve themselves in.
A second skill used was restating information given to the author by Irene. By repeating information, the author was listening intently and understood what was said; therefore, the author shows that they are invested in speaking with Irene (Knapp, 2014). Restating the response also allowed Irene to continue her answer, for example when Irene stated “I can’t sleep. I stay awake all night” the author restated the response to which Irene explained further. This is beneficial as more information can

1. Buck - A half St. Bernard and half sheepdog that was kidnapped and sold as a sled dog.
3. How does the writer present himself as someone we should trust? Be sure to cite words, elements of language he uses to establish this persona. Is it effective?
Next, I need to avoid redundancy. I tend to repeat myself in paragraphs. I need to make my sentences shorter (Jamieson, 2010). It seems that I need to take words from my writing. For example, instead of saying she is the person who did something, I should only say she. I understand some phrases should not change. For example, “new beginning, never before, or joined together” (Jamieson, 2010).
5. Present the 5 quotations from the story you currently intend to use. Their value will be assessed by how they relate to your essay thesis.
In this scene the point about civilization Huxley is trying to make is the newer and cleaner the more civilized. An example is "they've been doing this for the last five or six thousand years. So i suppose they must be used to it by now" pg. 105 he's showing that the uncivilized group of people are still stuck in the old times and haven't adapted any new ideas therefore they are uncivilized. Two other quotes that caught my attention are "cleanliness is next to fordliness" pg. 105 and "civilization is sterilization" pg. 105 and these two quotes show what they're idea of civilization
This quote is the resolution in Unbroken. After being rescued from Japan, the falling point of the book, Louie’s post-war life suffered from frequent flashbacks and nightmares and he struggled with alcoholism. He had secretly dedicated his life to killing his past tormentor, Mutushiro Watanabe, thinking it was the only way for him to move on. At one point, during one of Louie’s flashbacks, he began to choke his own child thinking it was Watanabe. His wife, Cynthia, had temporarily left him. However, after being talked into attending a sermon led by Billy Graham, he remembered his past promises to God. When Louie was lost at sea, he prayed for rain and promised that if rain was provided for him, he would dedicate his life to God. This quote
