He also discusses in great detail the multitude of devices, and how they are being put to use to increase and improve the learning environment. Because active learning environments are on the rise, more and more teachers are looking for new and exciting ways to teach their students. The first key trend that Mr. Pierce talks about in the article are interactive displays and projectors. Interactive projectors and displays hit the market in 2009, and they have rapidly become prevelant in classrooms across the country. Between 2013 and 2014 almost 86 thousand interactive projectors and displays were sold.
