Cell phones
Kids shouldn’t have cell phones in school. It is a completely terrible idea because it’s a high risk in schools. It could get stolen it can interrupt classes it actually can even decrease safety in schools.
Theft is a big problem in schools. If another student takes a students phone then that just proves that that person doesn’t have a phone. So if there’s a phones are allowed in school rule then that would make kids at school without phones feel sad and they will take alot more of the students phones.
Another problem phones can cause are interruptions.Like during a big test or during a lesson. If a student gets a call or text it will make a lot of noise and it will distract kids from learning.Interruptions are
Cell phones should not be banned at school for many reasons. One reason cell phones should not be banned is in the case of an accident or emergency. In the article, Cell Phones in School: An Overview by Beverly Ballaro and Jill Ginsburg, it states that “ 84% of parents felt that banning cell phones from school property was unacceptable and that 99 percent wanted their students to be able to call or be called in case of an emergency.”
Cell phones are amazing things that allow us to so many great things, but are causing us to loose sight to what really matters? Cell phones should not be allowed to be out during school hours but should not be completely banned from the school campus. They are used as status symbols, a way to measure self worth and make us lose touch with reality.
Another reason why phones should not be allowed at school is cheating. Cheating happens rarely on cell phones. Cell phones allow student's to look up anything on Google. Google gives student's an enormous amount of information about an answer or topic that they looked up. Not only is looking up answers on on Google a way of cheating, but taking pictures of the answers is a way of cheating. Phones also get you in trouble with cheating because if you get
Kids would be better off if phones were allowed in schools. Phones provide students with a learning tool and allows them to earn teachers trust. Also, when kids have their phones they are happy, and happy kids are smarter kids. Cell phones can be used for a lot more than talking. Cell phones can be used in the classroom to help students with their assignments. Teens can use the calendars to record due dates for homework and tests. As teens we have grown to rely on our cell phones for all of our communication. Plus, students need cell phones in case of an emergency.
Most schools do not allow the use of cell phones in school or in class, so the school feels like changing their policy of cell phone use might be a bad idea. Students could take advantage or miss use the privilege of phones in class. There will always be students who act out in class, but the school must discipline those who do and reward those who do not.
Did you know twenty-four percent of K-12 schools ban cell phones altogether, and 62 percent allow phones on school grounds but ban them in the classrooms? As you know, not many schools allow the use of phones in school. Those that do usually have a strict restriction on them. Even though most schools do not allow the use of phones in the classrooms, they have educational benefits, therefore they should be allowed in the classroom. The reason I think phones should be allowed is because they don't only have distracting uses, but they also have educational uses. Although phones can be distracting, there are tons of educational uses for phones. In an article called “40 Uses For Smartphones In School,”(leyden) it gives 40 educational uses for phones during school hours.
Cell phones should not be allowed in school. Cell phones should not be allowed because they can help you cheat on a test. They have apps and website that can help people cheat. Because the phone can be were the teacher cannot see it they can cheat easier. On the cell phone there is notes were people can write the answers down. Cell phones can help people cheat on test. Some phones mak it easier to hide stuff then other phones.
Cellphone’s should be able to be brung to schools for a good reason. The three that I came up with are kids getting home for school, useful for our education, and for downloading apps for us to use for our education for the kids at school. The first reason i say that cellphones should be brought was for safety of the kids getting home from school. If a kid is at school and they are trying to get home they can call their parents to come pick them up our another relative can. Also if a kid gets lost walking home from school they can just call somebody instead of asking a stranger and the stranger might just try to kidnap you. And from the article “Pros Of Allowing Cell Phones In High Schools” it says that if a
I think phones should not be allowed at school. Kids should not have their phones at school because people use them to spread rumors and misinformation.
Cell phones should not be allowed at school because people can use them to cheat. They can text answers to each other, they can look up answers online, and they can use an online calculators. In source number two it states, “Students have been caught making calls in class and text messaging test answers to their friends.”
Students should be allowed to have phones in class because students aren’t the only ones who use them in class, the teachers use it as well. It is stated on weareteachers.com , “ It’s not just the tweens
Many teachers believe that cell phones don’t belong in a classroom because there are several disadvantages. An example maybe a student who uses a cell phone in class has no intension in listening or paying attention to the teacher. This student has a short attention span who cares about socializing more than his/her education. Cell phones can be very disruptive; they can invade people’s privacy and can also be used as harassment or bullying. The usage of cell phones is creating a huge problem particularly when they are used in school.
Cell phones can be such a big distraction that it can take away from kids education.
More and more kids are getting cell-phones every year, and because cell-phones are gaining more educational abilities, some people are suggesting that phones be allowed for more use in school. Although cell-phones can be an useful learning tool, they should not be allowed in schools because many kids would abuse the privilege, there are many other technologies available for use, and phones are also not available to every person.
There are more effective ways in creating policies than just banning students from using their phones. Many people today lacked responsibility, because the education system today does not teach students to be responsible. Only few who grew up out of their comfort zones are very responsible for their works. Children at this age love arguing with either parents and teachers. Taking phones from them the students therefore can be the worst method of teaching responsibility. All the rules made by the school does not make one to be more responsible, but frustrated. High school students are mature enough at this point in life and should be taught to be responsible. Students at this age already know that they are not supposed to use their phones to play games. When necessary, teachers can make their students turn on airplane mode to prevent cheating during a test (“7 Reasons Why Students Should Be Allowed To Use Cellphones In School,” 2014). The simple logic is that the more rules there are, the more frustration and pressure will be put on students.
