One of my favorite things to do is watch movies and TV shows. Now before I go any further, I know what you’re thinking “typical high school student”. Why won’t this generation get outside and do something? Well not to worry, I also love to be outside working on my family ranch and enjoying the great outdoors. Now where was I? Oh right…watching movies. The other day I was talking to a friend of mine about any new movies he had seen and thought I might like. He mentioned a new sitcom he had seen on Facebook about agriculture. Being a show buff, I had to check it out. Little did I know how furious that show about agriculture would make me.

The first is to stop the use of antibiotics. Chipotle says antibiotics are fed to animals daily to promote growth and to prevent illnesses due to unsanitary conditions. Chipotle’s solution to this is by only purchasing meats that have followed their responsibly raised™ criteria. In reality, antibiotics are typically used in a much more responsible manner. If farmers were to use antibiotics as Chipotle suggested animals would become immune. Then when they do get sick, animals would die and the farmer will only lose money. Also, antibiotics are not used because of unsanitary conditions but for natural illnesses that can be found in a luscious green field.
The second reason is to discourage genetically modified crops or GMOs. Chipotle says they do not use GMOs and if they do it is clearly labeled. Something chipotle seems to forget is that one of the largest GMOs is your everyday corn. Without human modification corn would not be what it is today or as accessible and that’s a problem when you’re cooking, especially for a restaurant, because many foods contain
