From the mass genocide of over ten million humans, to the indoctrination of an entire country’s citizens, the existence of monsters in our modern world has existed ever since the first human walked on the earth. Many novels that are fiction illustrate monsters in their context, but the entire ideology of a monster is a reality that is seen in the modern era we live in today. There have been several examples of political figures and individuals have committed actions that characterize them as a monster. These individuals have no remorse for the human lives they ruin. Some novels illustrate monsters in a pleasant way while others represent them in a very gruesome and hideous way. The reality of this characteristic in the real world is that we …show more content…
Responsible leaders will follow the guidelines to ensure the safety of their citizens and will not spark interest in gaining attention and power. Several of these leaders exist in developed nations such as the United States. With professional leaders such as Barack Obama or Donald Trump, these individuals govern the nation under freedom and do not follow the same principles that Kim does in North Korea. U.S citizens can follow any faith that they desire and live in a society of peace. They are ensured safety by the police in surrounding areas and do not worship the leaders of the country as North Korean Citizens do. The leaders of the U.S are committed to the safety of its citizens and will do anything to protect against monstrous leaders such as Kim Jung Un “U.S. special operations forces are set to conduct operations against North Korean nuclear, missile, and other weapons of mass destruction sites in any future conflict, the commander of Special Operations Command told Congress Tuesday” (Gertz). Although Kim is indicating his monstrous actions against the U.S, Donald Trump is taking measure so he can prevent the attacks on the citizens of the
Eleven million people. Adolf Hitler killed eleven million people because they were not like him. But this is all in the past. Something like this could never happen again, or could it? Something like the horrifying Holocaust could happen again because their are atrocious dictators all over the world, society will follow people in power, and there are numerous hate groups across the world.
In the article “Monsters and the Moral Imagination,” Stephen Asma, a professor of Philosophy and Distinguished Scholar at Columbia College Chicago, argues that the existence of monsters have a purpose in our lives. It is not only to reveal our deepest fears, but to question our moral instincts. Being attacked by fictional monsters seems impractical, however, chaos and disasters do happen and exist in the real world. The creation of monsters is due to our reaction of our fears and the inability to control the world we live in.
Global security: Under his leadership, North Korea adopts a new strategic line on develop its army technology to have nuclear weapon and hydrogen bomb. Experts believe by 2020, North Korea will have over a hundred nuclear and biological weapons if left unchecked. Under Kim Jong-un, North Korea breaks, and ignores international laws. “Monsters exist, but they are too few in number to be truly dangerous. More dangerous are the common men, the functionaries ready to believe and to act without asking questions.” ― Primo Levi
28 December 2011: The day that would change the lives of those who lived in North Korea, and impact those of our entire world. This date is marked by the burial of the supreme leader of North Korea, Kim Jong-il and the declaration of the new supreme leader, his son, Kim Jong-un.
North Korea’s leader Kim Jong-un has made audacious claims alluding to the power and potential of the country’s nuclear programme. The United State has yet to confirm the validity of these claims, but the US intelligence has decided to air on the side of caution; our country is preparing for a nuclear strike. The most dangerous thing about Kim Jong-un’s claims is the details. A number of tests conducted, the type of bombs being tested, the material being used to manufacture these bombs, and whether or not North Korean intelligence has achieved miniaturization are all very important factors in the rush to defend our country against these threats. If the country has conducted multiple tests, it’s had more opportunities to refine its weapon; if the bombs are hydrogen bombs, they are far more powerful; if uranium is the nuclear reactant being used, North Korea can make many many more bombs than before; if they have been able to miniaturize a bomb small enough to fit on a missile, they can launch an attack on US soil. Kim Jong-un has claimed for all of these to be true, but the US is a strong, independent country, and any attack will be detected early on and met with an attack just as strong if
Throughout all of history, there has been a countless number of leaders who fit the description of Machiavelli’s “Perfect Prince”. One of the many world leaders that fits the description is North Korea’s Kim Jong-Un. Kim is a cunning, sneaky, powerful dictator that is world renowned. He follows Machiavelli’s guidelines extremely well, making him a good fit for the role. Kim Jong-Un is a Perfect Prince because he is feared, has a mix of power and cunning, and makes people think he is cruel.
The situation in North Korea has been tense for many years now, however Kim Jong-Un is upping the stakes and is ordering more and more missile tests and demonstrations of nuclear weapons. The increased frequency of these demonstrations, could be that North Korea is signaling that it is preparing for war, or it could be signaling that they have weapons and to not attack. North Korea in this case using its nuclear capabilities as deterrence to the United States.
On October 24, 1945 the world established and formed what is called the United Nations. Together, 193 countries constituted The Universal Declaration of Human Rights which instructs basic human rights onto all citizens. The list consists of thirty basic human rights that all countries and their rulers should abide by, but not all leaders choose to do so. Kim Jong-Un, supreme leader of North Korea, dictates his nation into immense poverty and controlling regulations. His perspective paints a clear picture of dictatorship and on account of his actions the supreme leader breaks the twenty-forth human right known as the right to play. Kim Jong-Un has ordered the North Korean government to deny citizens the basic humane rights and freedoms.
“For years, the United States and the international community have tried to negotiate an end to North Korea’s nuclear and missile development and its export of ballistic missile technology” (Arms Control Association). North Korea’s perspective is that they see Americans as the devil. North Korea has fabricated many propaganda posters such as this one. Today, children in North Korea are taught to view America as the source of all evil in the world. They take national pride in their hate for Americans and their desire to destroy, America with nuclear weapons. Our current president, Donald Trump, has taken a different approach than former presidents. He has taunted the current leader of North Korea, Kim Jong-un, calling him “little rocket man” and promising to “rain down fire and fury” and “totally destroy North Korea” if America is threatened with nuclear weapons from North Korea (Kahl). Surprisingly, this tactic of his has led to a United States-North Korean summit scheduled for June 12, 2018, in Singapore. This will be the first face to face meeting between the leaders of the two
The president of the United States Donald Trump has vowed to take care of the North Korean Threat with or without the help of China. President Trump in a speech on April 24th, 2017 has stated that the North is a real threat to the world and that they are a problem that finally needs to be solved calling for heavier sanctions against the country.
The negotiations talking on the nuclear threaten and the denuclearization of the Korean peninsula has recently shaped the agenda of North Korean system of international relations, thus affecting the patterns of foreign policy of the DPRK. This issue has gained such a priority to lead to the establishment of the 6PT experiment, thus proving to stand at the core of the debate on the stability and safety debate in the Northeast Asia region.
Over the course of history, it can be determined that the most evil of dictators follow the same set of characteristics. Generally, these tyrants rule with an iron fist, deploying military power whenever they feel they should. They often funnel their state’s coffers into their own personal bank accounts, and it is common for dictators to force their people to treat them with the utmost reverence and respect. These traits are seen in rulers like Hitler, Stalin, Mugabe and Hussein. However, there is one dictator set apart from the rest--the North Korean former President Kim Jong Il. It is Il’s eccentricities, of which there are many, distinguish from the other members of Dictator’s Club.
Leadership is a key dynamic in our society, but sometimes the ability to lead a group gets abused. One of the most recognized examples of this is the leadership in North Korea. North Korea's leadership is very problematic for various reasons. Firstly, the people of North Korea are not allowed to form their own ideas. Secondly, North Korean people have no freedom to work or act as they would like. Lastly, the people in North Korea are not allowed to learn, unless it is good for North Korea.
From early on, the reader knows that Kim is a poor boy and therefore, has to beg for most food. However, as the story progresses, the reader becomes aware that Kim is borderline scare good at manipulating at people and getting information. Ever since the lama came to Kim, there have been multiple instances where Kim can be seen begging for food or shelter. He doesn’t just stand and plead, though. Kim knows exact what to say and how to act in order to bend people to conform to his desires. Originally, it appeared this was only so Kim could get the necessary means to survive, but there is one instance where Kim completely planned out a situation where he would get money. This occurred when Kim purposely got kicked off the train and he “…burst into a flood of tears…and…lifted up his voice and wept outside the carriage window” (Kipling 44).
