Many people are under the assumption that kinesiology was introduced to the world in the more recent years. They tend to date its beginnings to when it became the science and subject matter we have come to know today and was introduced in our school systems as a potential degree to major in. Through research and digging into the world’s history I have found the origins of kinesiology to date back as far as 384 B.C. In this paper I will be uncovering the roots of the science we are familiar with today and introduce you to the key players who contributed to the science and fundamentals that encompass this incredible area of study.
During the five years at Trinity, I have gained a lot of knowledge and experience to succeed. My passion has always been Science; I have been interested and curious about the anatomy of the human body. The classes that motivated me to pursue a career in health are Anatomy and Physiology, Medical Surgical and Mental Health Clinical, Religion of the World, and Health and Wellness Programming.
A degree in human biology qualifies a person for a variety of jobs. This degree provides a foundation to pursue veterinary, dental, or medical school paths, in addition to positions in research and development, laboratory testing, instruction, production, and quality control. Human biology provides a broad base from which to draw upon. The occupation that interests me the most is physical therapy. Physical therapy interested me ever since I began getting involved in gyms. My first encounter with a trainer at a gym was when I got trained for an hour for a baseball camp to help protect your rotator cuff, that was the moment I realized I wouldn’t mind having a job similar to what the trainer had. I wanted a job where I could help people
Obtaining an advanced degree will increase my overall understanding of the whole picture of the disease process. For example, learning what goes into education, prevention, diagnosing and treating of patients. As a family nurse practitioner education and prevention would be a main focus of mine. Chronic diseases are a major cause of death and many of these are preventable. As a critical care nurse, I have seen a lot of chronic diseases that have progressed to late stages and always wonder if there would have been a different outcome had prevention played a role in this patient’s life early on.
Chiropractic treatment is one of the best healthcare options for patients with spine related problems.
Nursing and physical therapy deal with a lot of helping people recover from incidents that might of have happened to them or even give them the knowledge to help them prevent from that incident to happen again. It could've have happened during an athletic sport or even just trying to recover from a big surgery. I have been in one of these situation before. I had to go to physical therapy because of a dislocation during my football game. Ever since I recovered from my incident something just clicked in my mind and all I thought about was helping people. What better way to help people with injuries is to help them recover from them. My reasons why you should accept me into your University is because I am a hard worker, I take my learning seriously, and I am always on time.
Suddenly recalled back to a time when all I wanted to do is to help someone. The thought and desire to aid people in a job seem like a perfect dream. I use to massage my mother every weekend. Her heels were always cracked, and her back was as stiff as a rock. During my leisure time, I would practice it on my brother and sister to learn from their opinion. This interest evolved throughout the years into physical therapy.
Kinesiotherapist monitors exercise programs that helps people regain muscle strength which was lost due to injury or disease. These are the people that study the depths of anatomy and understand how each part of the body works. The kinesiotherapist choose exercises that best suits the patient depending on what the patient’s goal is. The main goal for a kinesiotherapist to make sure the individual can reach their highest point of mobility and strength without causing pain to the individual. Staying faithful to the exercise routines the kinesiotherapist provides is key to being successful. The education requirements are obtaining a four year degree in kinesiology or exercise science, getting CPR certified, classroom study where you must know
I am interested in pursuing a Bachelor of Kinesiology degree to develop a solid understanding of the human body, health, and fitness, as well as to set myself up in a position in which I could go on to pursue a career involving these areas of interest. I have always been interested in finding out how the body works and how to apply this information to benefit people’s lives. From a young age I have enjoyed participated in physical activities such as gymnastics, hiking, and horseback riding. These experiences helped me gain an appreciation for the human body and an interest in really understanding how it works. My love for animals has also inspired me to learn more about how their bodies differ from humans.
Throughout sports there has been many common injuries due to either the level of the sport, the practice of the sport, techniques learned, and the surroundings of the sports. My athlete has sustained her injury by these few examples . Does physical therapy have similar or better outcomes as total knee arthroplasty for knee osteoarthritis relief?

I decided to pursue Kinesiology as my major because I am very much interested in helping people of all ages reach their fitness goals, give them knowledge on how to live a healthy life and to help them understand that healthy eating and exercise needs to be a part of their lifestyle. Since I was six years old I have always played sports. I was forced into playing as a kid due to the fact that my parents and some of my cousins are former athletes. I began to develop a passion for sports that has continued to this day. Life was difficult when I was younger. I was overweight and there was an unfortunate reaction of the other students who made a mockery of my weight. Nevertheless, I was still surprisingly athletic. I would spend nights upset due to the fact that I was bigger than all of my friends and would constantly ask my dad how to lose weight and get muscles. Granted, I was around 10 years old at the time so there are not many exercises that you can do at this age besides push-ups, sit-ups and running laps around the track.
Kinesiology taping is designed to aid in the natural healing process of the body by supporting and stabilising the muscles, joints and tendons. It is an elasticated tape used for treating sports injuries and other conditions and can be worn up to four days. It was designed as a tape with stretch due to the perception that it would mimic human skin. Some practitioners believe that taping in general enhances proprioception and, therefore reduces the occurrence of injuries. After the Olympic Games in Beijing, 2008 Kinesiotaping took off as it received large scale exposure.
The lower body is made up of a variety of muscles, including the largest or the gluteus maximus. The gluteus maximus is the most visible gluteal muscle, but there are two smaller muscles underneath it: the gluteus medius and gluteus minimus. The glutes are responsible for hip movements, such as extension, rotation and abduction (moving the thigh away from the body). It's also heavily involved in that dance many of us have tried - shaking your booty.
