Strong Debut of Krakow’s Unsound in Toronto.
Power of electronic music, noise, synthesizers, and lasers. It was all waiting for the audience of Unsound Toronto in the abandoned since 1983 Hearn Generating Station. Thanks to the initiative of the Polish Institute in New York, and with the help of the Consulate General of Poland in Toronto, extremely popular the Unsound Festival arrived for the first time in Canada.
Unsound, an innovative music, and art festival, which originated in Kraków, held already several festivals in New York, Adelaide, and London, and was making its Canadian debut. The festival became an enormous success, as it was evident in the positive previews and reviews in local Canadian and Polish media. Matt Schulz, a founder and organizer of the festival, in an interview for the Globe and Mail said: “We have had concerts in a synagogue, a gothic church, a postindustrial space, an old communist hotel. The idea is to experience the whole city. We think about the way music interacts with architecture.”
The Canadian premiere of Unsound Festival took place at the Hearn Generating Station. The station, built in 1951 to supply power to the city has been decommissioned in 1983. It is located at Toronto’s Portlands area

Toronto is famous for its liberal, expressive arts, and the local performing arts scene has been in the spotlight many times and received numerous rewards (Henry, C., 2009). Every year, flocks of tourists are drawn in by world-renowned theatre events and festivals. Examples include (Toronto International Film Festival Inc., 2011):
It’s amazing to listen to musicians who do not normally play with each other come together and leave the audience in complete awe. That is exactly what happened on the day of Thursday November 26th 2014. The Bill Crothers Varsity Winds comprised of grade eleven and twelve students along with a few, talented grade tens went to listen to the Toronto Symphony Orchestra play. We travelled via a typical yellow school bus that took us to Roy Thomson Hall where we went right to the top level and took our seats. The seating seemed rather helpful because from a distance you could hear every instrument when you focused on it. It was beautiful. The band presented well with their “Penguin” like attire that was kind to the eyes. They appeared very organized,
Before the concert began, the atmosphere felt causal and comforting. The non-ticketed nature of the concert seemed to create a diversity within the audience. There appeared to no unreasonable dress code policy and the ages of the audience ranged from infants to elderly adults. Something I took note of was that the instruments that made up the ensemble were all wind instruments, except for the string bassist and pianist. I had never attended a performance primarily consisting of wind instruments, so I was curious to hear whether the themes of the pieces were going to be betrayed similarly to string instruments.
The concert was performed on the Southam Hall stage at the NAC; this is a large hall with extremely good acoustics. It is a nationally known stage, so the quality of the hall is very good. Generally, the audience was very receptive as it was composed of adults, who were all silent. The acoustics were very good as the hall spread the sound throughout the hall without making it echo. This had a positive effect on the performance, because it was possible for the orchestra to be clearly heard from any point in the entire hall. I was impressed by the large number of students that I saw that night because the show deserved to have been heard by many young people.

Michael Mauskapf explores the changes within concert audience in recent years and how the orchestra is plays both innovative and archaic roles within the community. venue. The purpose of this concert was to give people a taste of the NEIU
My first concert experience turned out to be very different from what I expected. Even though I would not choose to listen to classical music normally, the concert has made me enjoy this type of music more and made me think about how much more there is to music than just lyrics and a
The beginning of the concert started off with a performance of Claudin De Sermisy’s “Content désir (1544). There were viols and recorders used during this performance. I wasn’t very impressed by the overall performance. The muscians were not always on the same page and it sounded bad at times.
The second concert that I chose for this assignment is a modern day rock concert from the English Symphonic Rock Band, Muse. This concert takes place at the O2 Sheppard’s Bush Empire Theatre in London, England. The crowd is large and ruckus, the concert is loud, bright, and energetic.
Ultra Music Festival (UMF) is a yearly open air electronic music celebration that happens in March in the city of Miami, Florida, United States (DURAN, 2013).In this report I have analysed about the ultra-Miami festival event in USA and what is behind the success of the event. Events rarely succeed or fail it is totally depending on the scheduling and who all are the stakeholders are supporting the particular event. For a successful event there are several potential goals to satisfy and a plethora of stakeholders to involve (Presenza, 2012). Festivals are mostly unique in the events sector how the stakeholders are involved in the events. Media is mainly involved in a group way in television and
The music played throughout all of the concerts adhered to be diverse. The instruments, the individuals performing, and the conductor all proved to be outstanding. The concerts proved to be interesting as I witnessed them, first hand.
