Almir Buco The Art of a Deal:A Kyoto Protocol Simulation 1st Hour In my first hour Environmental Science class, we did a simulation of what it would be like to experience a real life situation of deals, and arguments. There were four countries (A, B, C, and D) that were represented. I was a part Country B. We had three members in our group, and we were just relaxing at the beginning of the group assignment. Moments later, after the assignment was announced, we got into our groups and headed to the other side of the room with the other countries. We sat and listened to the other groups argue and make their deliberate deals. They seemed really sure of what they wanted, so I and my group decided to step in. Apparently
The Big Four was a group comprised of Lloyd George of Britain, Vittorio Emanuele Orlando of Italy, Georges Clemenceau of France, and Woodrow Wilson of the United States. In January 1919, the Paris Peace Conference would be held with the purpose of establishing peace after the World War. Even though there was thirty countries participating in the conference, the representatives of Britain, France, the United States, and Italy would be known as the Big Four. During the conference, the Big Four would dominate the proceedings that would lead to the eventual creation of the Treaty of Versailles, which was the treaty that helped to officially end World War 1.
What responsibility did each of the “Big Three” have for the failure of the Versailles Treaty to bring peace to Europe? Be sure to discuss what each wanted to accomplish.
1. How did you plan for the negotiation? Explain how you decided on a strategy?
The beginning of the assignment started off bad but ended on a positive note. As the deadline drew closer, the group members were forced to find a common ground in regards to the specific time the group discussions would be conducted. To address the lack of communication, Marcelo, one of the group members, laid out the goal we needed to complete. After this was done the project fell into place and was competed on
The group was primarily made up of males, there was one female aside from my
The Big Four: And Others of the Peace Conference, by Robert Lansing offers a firsthand perspective on what occurred during the Peace talks following the First World War. Robert Lansing primarily concentrates on the four biggest players during the Peace talks, Georges Clemenceau, Woodrow Wilson, David Lloyd George, and Vittorio E. Orlando. Lansing’s report of these four men compromised three fourths of the entire book, leaving the rest of the book to the representatives of other States, such as Eleftherios Venizelos, Emir Feisul, Louis Botha, and Ignace Jan Paderewski. One of the most significant features of this book is that it offers a different perspective of the Peace talks because it is a look at how people viewed these Statesmen and their actions at that time.
Describe a group Setting or Scenario in which you have worked or of which you are currently a part
They were the French and the British. Stated in the document I interpreted, the others consisted of Austria, Prussia, Sardinia, and the United Netherlands. At this time period, Spain and Italy was struggling. Taking sides would be a bold move. For example, in World War II, the United States tried to remain neutral, but the direct bombing made us join.
I believe that everyone in the group participated in the group. Usually one asks a question and some people provide help/explanations.
I, Jaskiran, and Crystal were in a group together. We are grade 11 students, and so we had to pick two countries (there were 3 people in our group, instead of the normal two,
together and bonded during this special event. I did not know many of the other people involved
The advent of industrialized civilization has brought to us many remarkable feats that enhance our everyday lives. Such things as automobiles, airplanes, tractors, mainframe computers, and even relatively simple machines like lawnmowers have intertwined themselves into the everyday culture of modern day industrialized countries.. These products have provided us enormous benefits compared to the types of lives our ancestors used to live. In the eyes of some, the consequences of industrial activities that have evolved around the world will not pose any problems in the future, however as most have realized, this is not true. Contemporary production processes use fossil fuels such as
British Prime Minister, David Lloyd George, French Premier, George Clemenceau and US President, Woodrow Wilson, also known as the “Big Three” met with each other on a daily basis to discuss the treaty. After
When it was my time to go observe the other group, it was so confusing. I had no idea what was going on or why people kept touching my arm when I got close to them. This was very strange and unexpected because I am not used to people
I facilitated the third session as the group entered into the middle phase of the group process. In the middle phase the group focused on getting the work done (Shulman, 2012). All of the group members, both have things in
