The 2011 Oscar Academy Award Pixar nomination- La Luna directed by Enrico Casarosais, is an incredible short film! The plot is not complicated or too extreme but creative and unique. La Luna is about a little boy who sails in the middle of the ocean with his Grandpa and Father to a spot where they climb up a ladder, because they have a job to clean up the moon for the different phases that you see at night. In my opinion, La Luna is not my favorite Pixar but has one of the best animations and music! Right from the start, the film portrays absolute peace, and the music is the star. The stars and the light are so beautiful and in many ways, the music sounds like a lullaby. My absolute favorite part is the music because it gives off a peaceful
In 1788, Israel Ludlow, Matthias Denman, and Robert Patterson bought 800 acres of land from John Cleves Symmes along the Ohio River at the mouth of Licking River. John had purchased 2,000,000 acres of land from the Confederation Congress in 1787 and hoped to become rich by selling parts of the purchase to others. By early January 1789, Israel had planned out the town, dividing it into two types of lots. Israel, Matthias, and Robert provided the first 30 settlers with two free lots, one of each type. The men named the town Losantiville. The town grew slowly at first. Settlers had constructed twenty cabins and one frame house. Eleven families and two dozen single men lived on the land. Eventually it increased in size.

In July 1598, Juan de Oñate established a settlement in New Mexico at San Juan Pueblo at La Villa de San Gabriel (now known as Ohkay Owingeh since 2005 when it was restored to its pre-Spanish name). Oñate not only extended the Camino Real by more than 600 miles, he also established the northern most settlement of the Spanish empire. La Villa de San Gabriel was located more than 750 miles from any Spanish speaking villages in Mexico. The remote location of the settlement, along with the fact that supply trains were sent to La Villa de San Gabriel only every one to three years, led to the evolution of a Spanish dialect unlike those in the rest of the Americas. New Mexico Spanish, also called Traditional Spanish by some linguists, has deep
Moon Shadow, a Tang boy in the Middle Kingdom, otherwise known as China, lives with his mother and grandmother. His father, Windrider, is in the “Land of the Golden Mountain”, or America, in seek of money to send to his family, and bring them overseas. Because of this tragic event, Moon Shadow’s mother does not ever want to or talk about the Land of the Golden Mountain, Grandfather, or her husband. All she ever says is “... He was a maker of most marvelous kites…” However, one day a distant cousin of Windrider’s, Hand Clap, comes with a message for Moon Shadow: Windrider wants Moon Shadow to

Today Miss Cortes decided to take the children to Lincoln Park for a family day out. It was Ms. Cortes, Mr. Perez (the children's father), Nicholas, Messiah and Jordan. I met the family in front of Project Home at 6pm and then we walked to Lincoln Park. When we got to the park Mr. Perez left to go to the store to get snacks and water and took Jordan with him. He did not came back until 8:15pm. This left Ms. Cortes to deal with Nicolas and Messiah on her own. Before entering the playground area, Ms. Cortes told the boys they were not allowed to get wet and do not leave the play area. They children all wanted to play on different things at first . Jordan wanted to get on the swing, Messiah wanted to play on the train and Nicholas went over to the sliding board. Ms. Cortes found a breach in the middle of the play ground were she could keep on eye on all of them and left her bags. She walked over to Jordan and pushed him on the wing for a few minutes. When he asked to get down she brought him over to the bench. Mr. Perez than walked over and told Ms. Cortes he was going to the

I love the sentence that which appeared in the Stephen Dunn’s Poem the image. It said “if you come to realize the imagined woman can only satisfy your imagination.” This Quote has reminded me that nowadays people are really care about appearance more than inside beauty. They try to find a lot of ways to make themselves looks perfect, beautiful and handsome. I really love this quote as, it really tell the truth of this society. Also this quote work really well into the poem, this quote didn’t use any specific special world, but it still fit into the content of the poem.
Revolutions, we can safely say, are a historical constant. The human desire for change and the will to fight for one’s future have led to revolutions of varying size and scope since the earliest of ancient times. The 20th century too saw revolutions of all kinds. And yet, of the many revolutions that marked the past century of human history, very few had such effects and such impact as the Chinese Communist Revolution of 1949, or the War for Liberation, as many Chinese know it. Truly, the revolution of 1949 has dramatically changed the world, both in an economic and political context and beyond. It has forever changed not only China, but the very Chinese nation, and paved the way for her to become one of the giant global players of today. But scholars often challenge the communist nature of the revolution, stating that, while it was the communists who led it, the revolution itself was in many ways not
