4. Ver-o-Peso, Belém, Brazil
Noisy and chaotic, yet irresistibly atmospheric, with parallel rows of fishmongers selling odd-looking specimens, this vast riverfront emporium hugs Béllem’s Ver-o-Peso docks, where the boats land their Amazonian catch. Alongside the original neo-Gothic market building, imported from England in 1899, a marquee shelters stalls vending dizzying varieties of fruits and hot food.
5. Mercado Central, Santiago, Chile
Under a wrought-iron, art nouveau canopy dating from 1872, this animated fish market groans with an extraordinary shoal of sea creatures, from barnacles to giant squid, many unlabeled, untranslatable, or unknown outside Chile. Marvel at the fishmongers’ speed and skill. If the thought of identifying and preparing the fish is too much, onsite restaurants offer

La Vucciria, Palermo, Italy
In a gritty part of Palermo, and reflecting Sicily’s heady ethnic brew, the boisterous atmosphere of La Vucciria is more Middle Eastern than European. Musicians bang drums and sing Arabian-infused ballads; the smell of barbecued sausages and kebabs permeates the air. The name comes from the Frenchboucherie (butchers market) but expect everything from fish to fruits.
9. Cours Saleya, Nice, France
This pretty flower-and-food market is so crowded that fellow shoppers jostle you as you shop. Among the essentials of Niçois cooking are indelicate animal parts like lambs’ testicles, and pigs’ ears and heads, alongside more internationally acceptable ingredients. Lined with cafés and seafood restaurants, the market has a different atmosphere on summer nights, when it becomes a covered eating area.
10. Borough Market, London, England
London’s oldest food market—here for more than 250 years—is wholesale most of the week, but Thursdays through Saturdays it delights foodies with its cornucopia of fine foods from independent suppliers throughout the U.K. and beyond, from the choicest olive oils and cheeses to ostrich burgers and wild boar
You're surprised by how modern this city seems. It has a library, theaters, and grand temples. There are shops and restaurants and a market where you can taste dozens of delicacies, from sweet dates and figs to fattened roasted mice stuffed with nuts and rose petals. Beautiful marble and bronze
Growing up in a small town has the advantage of being a close-knit community, unfortunately this also meant that exposure to foreign delicacies is not a common occurrence. As a child, I developed a strong dislike for any foods that I viewed as abnormal, and became quite a finicky eater. Thus, my familiarity with Italian food is somewhat limited to restaurant dishes, and recipes that friends exuberantly claim to be a crime if not made. While being a student in Victoria, I have had the opportunity to live in various different areas, some of which were next door to outdoor markets. Much like the markets described by Braimbridge et al.,(2005) in The Food of Italy, the bread was baked fresh daily, the produce fresh and locally

In 2004, a multinational tuna company named Gratnas Altunas received permission from the government to build tuna pens near the mouth of Golfo Dulce. Had the project moved forward, the thinking goes; the town’s days as a surf destination would have ended. Abandoned by those in search of pura vida, shorthand for a philosophy and way of life shared by laidback surfers and Costa Ricans, alike.
I have not had the fortune to travel to many places, but did not really need to in order to write about one of my favorite places. I have chosen to write about Vizcaya, a place in which I have personally been able to experience and enjoy many times throughout my life. Although Vizcaya was constructed in what would be considered modern times, Vizcaya’s Gardens were inspired and designed in a European Renaissance style. Its formal gardens and design are reminiscent of Italian home and garden design of the late 15th to 18th century, influenced by Veneto and Tuscan Italian Renaissance. These splendid gardens are very formal and orderly, created for the environment of the user. They are very symmetrical and include all sorts of fascinating elements
Reggio Emilia is a child driven methodology where children are enriched within their environment as well as communication from their peers. Reggio Emilia schooling is an innovative approach for preschoolers and kindergarteners. Teachers are considered co learners with the children. The classroom environment is considered a “third teacher” while the children are seen as obtaining a “hundred languages”. Reggio Emilia schooling can be viewed as an out of the box and unorganized approach to learning due to excluding a written curriculum. Reggio Emilia has been viewed as highly unstructured with a high chance of bullying to develop. Reggio Emilia is an unconventional way of providing students with a manipulative environment including co-learners
Growing up in a border town between Texas and Mexico, I completed my elementary teachings in Mexico. Pressured into participating in afterschool activities in 6th grade by the principal and my family, folklore dancing was an art that I joined in. A dance that stood out to me was “La Danza del Venado” (The Dance of the Deer). This indigenous dance representative of the Sonora state and the Yaqui culture was partially nerve raking. Imagine waring a dead dear’s head on top of your head, a white speedo, and maracas on your hands to accompany the rattles around the heels. The dance signifies the battle between hunter and deer, the focus is on the deer’s spirit and the fight to stay alive. I remember my coach telling me to assimilate the steps you

“America was named after Amerigo Vespucci, a Florentine navigator and explorer who played a prominent role in exploring the New World.” the explorer who discovered Christopher Columbus didn't discover The New World. Amerigo also discovered the amazon river and cape of cattails. America was named after Amerigo Vespucci. Amerigo went farther south and said that North and South America were contents instead of part of Asia. Amerigo discovered The Amazon River and St.Augustine Cape America was named after Amerigo.
My research is about Amerigo Vespucci, the explorer who discovered that Christopher Columbus didn't discover The New World. Amerigo also discovered the amazon river and cape of cattails. America was named after Amerigo Vespucci. Amerigo went farther south and said that North and South America were contents instead of part of Asia.
Amerigo Vespucci was an Italian Explorer that contributed a lot to the thoughts, beliefs, and worldview of his modern Europe. He was born 1454, (died 1512) and lived most of his life in Florence. Florence is where the most important parts of his life went down when it came to his career path of both business and the career of exploration. Being the son of a man with business intentions for his career path, Vespucci spent a portion of his life engaging in the buying and selling of goods for his business. This was only in Seville, however. In Florence, Amerigo participated in a variety of jobs, all relating to business. His work of business lasted for some time, but as this career path decision was made by his father, it did not continue for much longer after Vespucci’s meet-up with Columbus during his job of commerce in Seville. Columbus has already gone on two voyages before he met Vespucci during a job, and during his converses with Vespucci, Columbus told of his discoveries of which Amerigo proved skeptical of. What proved to interest Vespucci the most, however, was the discoveries and findings of new lands that he never knew he longed for. ameriiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigo.jpg

In 1927, in a quiet fishing town, a cannery was built at the southern tip of the Baja Peninsula. The small town consisted of 300 workers and their families. There was little there, no timeshares, no luxury resorts, no golf courses and no marina with its numerous restaurants and bars that currently employ thousands of workers. In fact, the famous author John Steinbeck visited in 1940 and wrote, “It was a sad little town, for a winter storm and a great surf had wrecked it in a single night. Water had driven past the houses, and the streets of the village had been a raging river.” The name of the town was Cabo San Lucas, and it didn’t know it at the time, but it had a destiny. Why you may be asking yourself? It all started because of the fish. [1]
