In the article, the Worthington Biochemistry Corporation concisely explain the effects of pH and show what the optimal pH level is for multiple enzymes. The author/s are believed to be using data gained through experiments conducted, to try and identify the region of pH optimal stability for each enzyme. The research focuses on basic concepts of enzymology and how other factors can affect the enzymatic reaction of pH. This article is very helpful for researchers who must use pH buffer solutions but have little background knowledge on the effects pH has on enzymes such as catalase. The main limitation here is that the main topic isn’t explained in depth, thus the author/s indicate that in order to further develop a more in-depth understanding of the effects of pH, more extensive research needs to be undertaken. Although, this article will not form the basis of my research, it will however be useful supplementary information for my research on the effects of pH as it is an up-to-date article.
