In 1788, Israel Ludlow, Matthias Denman, and Robert Patterson bought 800 acres of land from John Cleves Symmes along the Ohio River at the mouth of Licking River. John had purchased 2,000,000 acres of land from the Confederation Congress in 1787 and hoped to become rich by selling parts of the purchase to others. The men named the town Losantiville. The town grew slowly at first. Settlers had constructed twenty cabins and one frame house. Eleven families and two dozen single men lived on the land. Eventually it increased in size.

What attracts me to the cartoonist of Lincoln Pierce is his style of drawings which are cartoons my most favourite type of drawings. I have been reading his books for a very long time and have read nearly every single book of his. I chose this artist as I have been wanting to replicate one of his cartoons and front covers for a long time. There is not much to dislike about Lincoln’s artwork or cartoons as he makes most of the endings on each page funny. What I like about his artwork is, the colours that he uses, he doesn't use dark colours he uses bright colours that stand out on the page. His comedic effects which makes his cartoons humorous and engages me to read more and more of his books. His artwork is very clean cut with no wonk lines and almost looks like it is computer generated. What I found interesting while learning about Lincoln is, that I never knew he got inspired to write comics on his experience as a sixth grader and that his last name is pronounced ‘Purse’ instead of what I say
