In order to understand why a business plan might best serve the community of Lakewood, CA, one would have to understand the adjacent communities and the City of Lakewood. The city of Lakewood is located in the south eastern section of Los Angeles county and borders Orange County to the east. The city also borders the following cities: Long Beach, Bellflower, Cerritos, Cypress, and Hawaiian Gardens; however, the 605 freeway directly passes through the city and the 91 and 405 can be accessed within a few miles of the city limits (bing.com/maps 2016). Nevertheless, the research will focus on Los Angeles and Orange counties instead of the nation as a whole.
The information used in this report was gained from several different sources. For example, I have used information from my P4 survey, as well as my P3, M2 presentation and my M1 table of various data collection methods.

This report examines the demographics of Ladera Ranch, California, analyzing population data to prove that the community of Ladera Ranch is a good location to open a business. Based on this data, the report will recommend the type of business that is best suited for the community. Ladera Ranch is a census-designated place located in south Orange County, California (“Ladera Ranch”, 2012); nearby cities include Mission Viejo, San Juan Capistrano, and Rancho Santa Margarita. Construction of Ladera Ranch began in 1999 with the goal of creating a community where residents enjoy recreational parks, clubhouses, shopping, and outdoor trails for joggers, hikers and bikers (“City Guide”, 2014). The research compiled confirms that Ladera Ranch has an abundance of facilities for outdoor recreation and leisure activities. However, based on its demographics, Ladera Ranch residents would also benefit from having a local indoor Family Entertainment Center to complement its existing infrastructure.
