We tend to listen to others instead of listening to ourselves, and it can be tragedy. In the play “Macbeth”, Macbeth starts as a normal character, but he was influenced to do and things. Things such as Fear, Witches, Demons, and Power influenced him, but Lady Macbeth was the most influential to Macbeth.
Lady Macbeth caused Macbeth to do evil. Firstly, Lady Macbeth had impact on Macbeth because she wanted power. She insisted Macbeth to be the king, so in her favor she would be the queen. For example in page 15 act 1, she is talking to Macbeth, and telling him why he shouldn’t be afraid to become the king. She says, “ Are you afraid to act the way desire? Will you take the crown you wanted or will you live as coward?” These sorts of words motivated
One can argue that all of the mischief in the play is caused my Lady Macbeth. The person who is the most influential is Lady Macbeth. Lady Macbeth feels she is too feminine to assist in the murder of the king, but feels that deep inside she is manlier than her husband. So, she tries to put her femininity aside when she says,
Lady Macbeth is one of the only women in the story, besides the witches who are really expanded upon. Throughout the story you really find out how manipulative she is. She is all but the only reason that Macbeth killed the king. She was the spark that lit the fire but she was also the wood that kept the fire burning. But its all started when she was told by Macbeth that Malcolm was to become the next king instead of him or his children. This drove her to manipulate Macbeth and to force his hand to kill the king. Lady Macbeth was so ambitious that if she had not been a woman or the fact that duncan looked like her father she would have killed him with her own hand and not Macbeth. She manipulated him by twisting his emotions and calling him less of a
In Shakespeare’s classic tragedy of Macbeth the main character Macbeth is driven from his status as a well respected warrior and lord of not one, but two Scottish regions to a dishonest, unloyal murderer. Macbeth gets caught in a web of lies and vile acts of murder in which he brings about his own demise. His criminal actions lead up to his tragic ending of life. ‘ They have tied me to a stake; I cannot fly, But bearlike I must fight the course.’ His great ambition and gullibility of the witches predictions are two of the biggest factors of his downfall;however, Lady Macbeth was probably the biggest influence in the whole tragedy.
I also think Lady Macbeth affected the play immensely because she provoked Macbeth. In the beginning of the play, The Weird Sisters told Macbeth his future. They said, “All hail, Macbeth! Hail to thee, Thane of Glamis!
The Tragedy of Macbeth would be greatly different had Lady Macbeth not been apart of it. Lady Macbeth was the puppet master for the entire scheme; she had her fingers in everything without boasting about it. Macbeth had a lot of instruction from Lady Macbeth regarding what he should and should not do. The tragedy would not have been the same without Lady Macbeth. Every little choice in life matters, every little thing that one takes into consideration when making a choice will end up affecting the outcome. In the case of Macbeth, Lady Macbeth has a lot to do with how his life turns out once he encounters the Weird Sisters. Lady Macbeth is a key character in The Tragedy of Macbeth. She proves that a man is not necessarily in charge. If Lady
Lady Macbeth thought it was just as important for Macbeth to be king as he did. Maybe even a little more. Her number one reason to me was that she wanted to be a queen more than wanting Macbeth to be king. She even went as far as to plotting, it out for Macbeth to kill him. She didn’t want to be the one to kill Duncn because she told Macbeth that he kind of resembled her father.
She is most influential person in Macbeth´s downfall, next to the witches. However, her relationship with him goes far deeper then that of the witches. It is my belief that the witches act only as a trigger to start the events in the play, and that Lady Macbeth herself was the driving force behind Macbeth´s actions. It is she who he contacts when he meets the witches, and immediately trusts her with the prophecy he is given.
We see in the play Macbeth that when the motivation to succeed in life becomes overpowering, other people may easily influence one and elements and one may decide on wrongful actions to achieve a goal. Some of the influences on Macbeth include the witches and the apparitions, Lady Macbeth, and lastly Macbeth's own insecurities and misguided attempts to control his future.
William Cole Eng 201 Dr. Frame 11/10/14 Macbeth: Influencing Macbeth Throughout the story of Macbeth, it is hard for Macbeth to repent and change course despite his guilt. The reason behind this is the outside influences throughout Macbeth. One of the main antagonist for Macbeth is Lady Macbeth. She is constantly influencing him in his life.
In William Shakespeare’s play The Tragedy of Macbeth, there had to have been some kind of motive or power to influence the actions and murders that occurred throughout the scenes of the play. In this play, many people were lied to and convinced that the murders were caused from natural causes or by somebody else, leading all suspicion off Macbeth and Lady Macbeth, when in fact all of them were executed by the new king Macbeth himself. Throughout the whole play, I believe who holds the most power to influence the action of others is Macbeth himself, along with his Lady who was by his side through all of this ambitious journey. Macbeth holds the most power to influence the actions of others because he managed to convince everybody to look past all the murders that are happening and serve and cater him as new king without any suspicion or fingers pointed at him.
Over the course of life, individuals are often influenced by the many people that they meet, both positively and negatively. In the play Macbeth, by William Shakespeare, various characters manage to influence Macbeth in several different ways. However, Lady Macbeth emerges as one of the most significant influences towards Macbeth as his wife, advisor and accomplice. Lady Macbeth originally displays herself as a character that is strong and dauntless, whereas Macbeth is much more timid and kind-hearted, almost naive. It is clearly seen that this couple is made up of two very different personalities and therefore, morals.
In Macbeth, the character Macbeth’s actions are influenced by a number of different factors. William Shakespeare uses both subtle and obvious factors to influence Macbeth. All of these factors give Macbeth character and as the reader, it is possible to see why he does the things he does. One of the more obvious factors that influence Macbeth are the predictions of the witches. These predictions give Macbeth confidence and at times, insecurity.
The witches have a strong effect on Macbeth's character; they highly influence him in his accomplishments and awake his ambitions. They give Macbeth a
Macbeth faced many important decisions when he had felt loyalty to the king, but still took his life and had other people kill for him. He convinced them this is what had to be done. Lady Macbeth made more decision for him when he was not going to go through with it. She would insult her husband and make him feel like he was not going to be a good king or man.
In life, there are two types of people: those who do the right thing and those who don’t. In the play Macbeth, by Shakespeare, the main character Macbeth is given a prophecy by three witches that says he will become king; however, there is no descending line of kings of his own blood. With the knowledge of the Witches’ prophecy, Macbeth’s ambition, and manipulation from his wife, Lady Macbeth, Macbeth is quickly dragged into a never-ending, bloody murder rampage to obtain the crown and get rid of those who stand in the way of obtaining it as well. Macbeth constantly battles with his moral dilemmas; however, he easily falls victim to influences that go against his morals. Influences on major characters emphasize how easily one’s decision making can be negatively affected, resulting in one going against his or her morals/integrity.
