Laguna Beach Suddenly, there was the Pacific Ocean, as blue as a large aquamarine gem. I was high on a cliff overlooking the beach far below. Huge black rock formations, like jagged, decaying teeth, jutted out of the water with wave after turquoise wave slapping against them. The waves also slammed against my cliff, spraying mist from the ocean onto my face. The roar of the wind embraced the land, and the thunder of the waves somehow had a calming effect. In the distance, sandpipers and seagulls bickered over who would get the next bite of food the water decided to give up, and I decided I should join them. Etched out of the wall of the cliff was a stairway. As I took it, the mist clung to my body, and I could feel the humid, sticky

Strolling down a beaten dirt trail with green mossy trees on either side. A soft breeze brushes a kiss against my cheek, as it pushes past, earth mixing with sea salt hits my nose. Soon the faint sound of waves kissing the shore, children’s laughter, and seagulls screeching calls to me. Walking along the winding dirt trail until the texture beneath my toes change. The trees part and on either side the trees rise into the air, becoming cliffs as far as my eyes can see. Instead of dirt beneath my feet it has been replaced by sand in between my toes. I walk towards the white cap waves where the water washes up against my ankles excitedly and then pulls back with remorse. Sea mist leaves a moist kiss against my cheeks and then

Four days passed without the ground or the scene changing much, except that behind them Weathertop slowly sank, and before them the distant mountain loomed a little nearer… At the end of the fifth day the ground began once more to rise slowly out of the wide shallow valley into which they had descended… Next day, early in the morning, they came down again to the borders of the Road… At once they went on again, hearing no sound but the water swirling against
The waterfall drown out the sound of the eagles that screeched above and drummed to the bottom of the endless cliff. The water roared around us, drifting into the marigold sun that sat cushioned between the clouds. I inhaled the piney air that choked my lungs, and the mountain exhaled with the wind that passed through it. The birds circled above as if they were taunting the trees, circling around them looking for their next victim. I stood on the ancient rocks, completely enthralled by the raw scene; a scene that would lock forever reside in the deepest accommodations of my
We felt the chilly water, the warm sand between our toes, and the hot sun beating down on our skin. We would walk around for about an hour until we saw one of our other friends and walk with them or go to the pool and let the cold water of the pool chill are hot skin. We would run to the beach like we were little monkeys running around and playing. After a calm peaceful swim we would go to the beach so we could practice are cheer routine for our 2016 Nationals. After about an hour coach said we could go swimming. Some girls ran in the bright blue, clear, beautiful, and life filled ocean. The half of the girls went to the clear blue, warm, sunny pool connected to the hotel. Sometimes Julia and I would go to the pool and we would stunt in the water. We would throw them out of the water and they would look like a bird flying in the sky doing impressive tricks. Most of the time I would go to the ocean and surf the enormous and glorious waves that shimmered when the sun's rays quickly shined on them to show their beauty. We could hear the whooshing of each wave hit us with a big bang with every person it hit. Each wave would have a glorious amount of sand that look like sparkles from a bath bomb when you would drop it in the crystal clear
Laguna beach has a natural beauty from the ocean to the canyons. At the same time there are many restaurants, shops and art shows. For example every summer there is the Sawdust festival and the Pageant of the Masters. Almost every shop or restaurant is a locally owned business. Laguna is unique in the US.

I stood there in amazement watching the ceaseless waves lap at the shore. The water shocked me with its beauty, the deep blue hues and white crests were a picture of paradise. I dropped my towel, sat on it and gazed out onto the incredible expanse of water. Being at the ocean in person is a totally different experience than looking at a picture or video. I sat there as my sisters ran out into the waves, at that moment I formally realized where I was. The overwhelming size of the glorious ocean made me feel very small. Thinking about Aurora, Indiana and what I had around me made me want to never return home. The oceans size, and being so far away from home shattered my inner world and rebuilt it into a more accurate size. For the longest time I thought that I would graduate high school go to a local college and have a job in the town I grew up in. I realized I was living at home with no thought whatsoever as to where I wanted to go or what I wanted to do with my life. My trip to the Gulf of Mexico made me realize that life is full of unknown possibilities, and I had an entire world that I needed to experience. Just going to Alabama had shown me the diversity of a different place. I realized there were other types of people out there, not just “farm boys” wearing boots and spitting dip
She trips along the shore, stumbling on the countless rocks worn smooth by centuries of the ocean’s wrath. You can barely tell she’s crying; the wind pushes her tears away before they fully leave her wild, blue eyes. A sudden gust whips her blonde tresses into her face again; she reaches up for what feels like the millionth time to throw them over her shoulder. She turns to look at the waves pounding the shore. The crashes are deafening, and as she watches, frothy spray shoots high into the air.
Lost for a moment, you wonder where you are. The bark of the aimlessly wondering dog brings you back to reality causing your surroundings become clearer. Underneath the ocean floor, small rocks sparkle like tiny gems. Each of them bring a beauty of their own, making you feel part of the ocean. The first whiff is particularly salty that soon dims into an intoxicatingly sweet smell. By inhaling the fresh air into your lungs, you somehow manage to reach paradise. Exploring underwater, the wonders of the ocean are screaming for your attention. The blue and red corals are so uniquely shaped that you cant help but wonder how under-appreciated the ocean is. Everything is perfect, and your mind is open. Thoughts are floating into the stillness of the ocean and the air as time passes by. When sunset reaches, you unwillingly leave the ocean and return to the boardwalk to your family. Look back one last time, the silent beach and the lifeless sand seem washed up from all of the movement of the day. Even the ocean seems desperate for company, but until tomorrow the beach will settle into a colorless
Then, ever so slightly, the sun began to set. As a result of this, the rocks began to reflect the colors of the sunset: the yellows, the oranges, and the reds. The shadows began creeping up the bottom of the rocks as they continued to set. And with that, I knew it was time for me to leave this place of awe and wonder. Nevertheless, I can never stop myself from longing for that same sense of peace that those colors
The air was cold and windy. The beach was black, with small glossy pebbles, and shells. The shells on the beach where beautiful, shiny, and large bigger than my head. The water was gray with rocks that were big enough to climb on. The rocks held puddles of water with ocean life living in them. Small crabs where running over my feet as I sat on the rocks looking at the wave splash against it. A small trail going off of the beach, going to a
The sound of the emerald green ocean water crashing against the shores filled my ears. Children ran along the shore, smiling from ear to ear while laughing amongst each other clearly enjoying their day. Some people were searching contently for sea shells, that were visible for miles. I looked out at the ocean, it stretched out far into the horizon; as far as my eyes could see. There were jetty’s that were perfectly placed within the ocean. I could smell the salt radiating off of the water. I had been waiting for this moment for a long time; I dashed into the ocean I’d been waiting for for the past
Some mornings, I would get up at dawn and go for a solitary walk to the lighthouse that was near the Las Pegasus beach. I would situate myself in front of it, lean against the metal railings, and watch the water currents move in the wind until sunrise. The way the currents moved in the wind made me feel sorrow; for ocean was like a river, roaring in anger at the unfortunate past it had experienced, and I could emerge into the water and let my past drown, filter out all the anger I still had deep within, and
