Land Destruction
What is land destruction? Land destruction involves many different things. It can be logging of trees and rain forest. Nuclear waste is one that is very serious that is harmful to the land. As well, pollution, air, water and land all do damage of some kind. Land destruction is something that doesn’t need to be taking lightly. There are many other items such as building and dams that cause damage to the land as well. This is a topic that needs to be addressed and fixed. All of this items listed above are dreadful to the land. Land destruction needs to be stopped and taken care of before it goes to far to stop.

Plastic is also something that is all around us. This is something that is the process to make them from oil is what causes the pollution. There is ton of plastic everywhere. Plastic is used for everything under the sun, from bottles to band-aids.
Contamination of the land is one type of destruction that sometimes there is no control of it. One of the most well known contaminations to the land was Chernobyl in the Ukraine. “One of the four reactors of the town's nuclear plant explodes: 31 persons were instantly killed; it is estimated that 15000 others died in the twenty years that followed. Thousands of hectares of land were contaminated and a huge radioactive cloud crossed the borders of the country.” (Industrial, 1) This was a big nuclear waste dump that did a lot of harm not just to the land, but to the people of the land as well. The affects of this type of devastation to the land is one that did and will have these affects long after the disaster occurred. There is another way the land can be contaminated. “For example, in open cast mining, enormous holes are dug in the ground and these form dangerously deep mining pools. Heaps of mining wastes are left behind and these wastes often contain many poisonous substances that will contaminate the soil.” (Land,
Pollution is one of the biggest global killers, affecting nearly 100 million people. Pollution comes in many different forms and affects the world and the environment in many different ways. Along with the best known pollutants such as water, air, and land, there are other pollutants that many people do not know much about. These include light, noise, thermal, and household pollution and are all just as damaging as the most known ones. Pollution is an introduction of a harmful or poisonous substance into the environment that has a negative effect on life around it. Pollution is deadly, and it is destroying the only world suitable for life. Pollution is a
Pollution is one of the most concerning topics to talk about in today's modern world. It acts as a poison for anything that lives and breathes; it could toxify water, air, land, humans, and animals, and is not to be taken lightly.
One solution to prevent land pollution is to educate people about the topic. Most people do not know why land pollution is such a large problem will not the garbage just dissolve into the earth.”What makes land pollution such a problem is that land is static,so land pollution
Pollution has always been an issue within our society. Derrick Jenson and Stephanie McMillan as well as Michael Pollan have all written articles about the issues in our environment and the effects of pollution. We are causing an increasing amount of pollution as time goes on. Virtually everything we do causes some form of damage to the environment and it seems that regardless of how much we want to fix this issue we are making no progress towards a solution. Based on their articles “As The World Burns” and Pollans article “Why Bother” these authors have similar views and yet contrast on many points.
Pollution is a major problem for all of us. People need to recognize this situation so we can start making a difference to this problem. In order
No matter how hard we try, the effects of pollution are everywhere. From major catastrophes like the
A copious amount of health problems can occur directly and indirectly due to pollution that could chronically impact a person, further
Pollution is a big problem in the United States because it causes all sorts and has a negative effect on the American population as it could lead to people getting sick at a higher rate it’ll affect climate in the United States including the risk of natural disasters happening at a higher rate in the United States. Changes in all this can change the way we live. If we don’t do something about it can affect future. Pollution has indeed been causing lots of damage to environment as we know it in many different ways. Environmental pollution we can prevent all this if we act now.
The earth is a wonderful place which we share with the plants, animals and birds. We must preserve the land we live on. A pollutant is any substance which contaminates the air, water and land. Pollution is the introduction of harmful substances or products into the environment or harmful changes that occur in the environment due to human actives are pollution. Pollution could be in air, water and land. As these harmful substances, gases and quality of life of all living beings will affect the humans. Pollution is very dangerous for health, environment, can cause sickness death in living beings, unnatural weather conditions and damage the crops. Pollutants are the key elements or components of pollution which are generally waste materials of different forms. Pollution disturbs our ecosystem and the balance in the environment. With modernization and development in our lives pollution has reached its peak; giving rise
Although thought to be “not a big problem” and “under control” by most people, pollution is making its way in being a serious and an unforgiving threat to society. Pollution a topic everyone hears and knows exists. What they don’t know is how serious of a problem it is already becoming. Many health issues are being reported now that are linked to air pollution and even the most severe weather places have encountered are linked to air pollution also. By society, not fully being aware of the true threat that pollution is making, it will only become a growing threat that they will be encountering.
Pollution has many kinds, i.e. water pollution, air pollution, land pollution, etc. the environment, animals and we affected by this problem. A lot of diseases spread due to the pollution such: Asthma and
Pollution is a common place everywhere in the world, the phrase is used for many global issues in various forms. Air pollution is a change in the stratosphere which causes adaption to the air, physical, biological, and chemical gasses. This happens when pollutants released into the air which comes in many different forms such as; gases, smoke, and dusts. The process leads to difficulty for the natural air to breathe because it is contaminated as there are two various forms of air pollution; visible air pollution and invisible air pollution. Some causes and effects of air pollution are; burning of fossil fuels, mining operations, indoor air pollution, agriculture activities, global warming, acid rain, and depletion of Ozone layer to name a few. Air pollution is linked to many health related issues. One location I focused my study on was the health of the Chippewa people in Sarnia Ontario and the documentary film “Toxic Trespass”.
This rapid growth of industrial civilization is causing the Earth to die. Moreover the nation has begun to change mindsets on what should come first, they are deciding to put their comfortable lifestyles ahead of the protection of the planet. Stated by Alan Durning, “The tragic irony is that while the consumer society has been stunningly effective in harming the environment, it has failed to provide us with a sense of fulfillment” (Durning 68). Durning gives an undeniable fact; the population has continued to destroy the land so that they may seek entertainment and after they have had their enjoyment, they leave an area to begin the process of destruction. A multitude of the population would argue that the ‘small’ amounts of land that is being used has a microscopic effect on the world, however, when everyone is using ‘small’ amounts of land it adds up. Furthermore, “Barely 7 percent of the areas currently enjoy some form of protection” (Mittermeier). This gives way for a mass eradication of the remaining 93% of the terrain. While people may assume that they are not a threat to the Earth, they have not begun to consider the amount of energy they use or the amount of harmful chemicals that they release
Pollution has become a prevalent issue worldwide and has begun to affect the air used to breathe, the soil used to grow food, and the water used to drink. All of these effects result in commonly occurring destruction of health and wildlife that one may have seen on the news or heard from peers. In order to live, one needs food, water, clothing, and shelter. If the water and food that society consumes gets contaminated, a major component of life has been eradicated, which can only have negative consequences. If more people are educated as to what effects the environment, the world has a chance to counteract the effects of pollution. The main causes of pollution are the burning of fossil fuels such as with car exhausts, littering as a result of societal norms and laziness, and factory waste as a result of lax waste regulation, and can result in mass destruction of the environment and catastrophic effects on the everyday lives of contemporary people.
Pollution is the introduction of harmful substances or products into the environment. It is a major problem in America and as well as the world. Pollution not only damages the environment, but damages us also. It has cause many problems ranging from lung cancer to the greenhouse effect. It is all among us but we continue to live in our own filth. What is the reason behind this flawed logic? In this paper I will examine the problems and solutions for this issue.
