It is the official language of many countries in the Middle East. Because it is also the language of Islam, there are people who can speak Arabic all around the world. And unlike Chinese, it even has an alphabet! However, Arabic is also quite challenging for English speakers.
About that Alphabet... although Arabic uses an alphabet, it is completely different from the Latin alphabet that we use in English. The Arabic letters are much different, and they change form depending on whether they are written alone, at the beginning of a word, in the middle of a word, or at the end of a word. And Arabic is written right to left, completely opposite of English.
Even if you get past the writing system, Arabic has some challenges. There are many different dialects of Arabic. Modern Standard Arabic is the formal dialect, the dialect used in international or business situations. But this is not what most of the population speaks. Every region and country has its own form of Arabic, and these forms can differ greatly from the Modern Standard Arabic and from each other.
Finally, in Arabic, when you conjugate a verb, you must change the entire structure of the word, adding in extra vowels and consonants. This is quite different from most English verbs and can take some getting used
Arabic spread globally as a result of religion, not English. It is clearly stated on pg. 184 of the textbook that “a large percentage of the world’s Muslims have at least some knowledge of Arabic because Islam’s holiest book, the Quran(Koran), was written in that language in the seventh century”. Arabic spread because being that Islam is a universalizing religion, the large amount of people that converted to the religion also had to learned the Arabic language, thus helping it spread. Therefore, Arabic spread globally as a result of religion, not English.
Linguistic discrimination is an important issue; many have been discriminated and excluded from the public sphere due to their disability to practice the standardized language. In the Arab world, when second language speakers try to talk Arabic, they seem to have difficulties with the pronunciations. Consequently, this leads to limitations during the blending in procedures. are citizens (Aaiusaorg, 2016). Arab Americans origins can be traced back to several continents. Essentially, they descended from twenty different countries (Sue & Sue, 2015, p. 575). Their main language is Arabic with a variance of regional or colloquial Arabic, which is spoken in different areas. To be more specific, even though the main language is Arabic, with the dialect there is a change of several forms within the language: vocabulary can be completely different from region to region, grammar also, and of course the change of accent dealing with vocalization and pronunciation parameters. A Moroccan could understand a Syrian; on the other hand the reversal of a Syrian trying to listen to a Moroccan’s long story would be impossible. The following are the different dialects: Egyptian, North African, Khalijji or Gulf and Levantine. The Levantine dialect comprises Jordan, Syria, Palestine, Lebanon and Israel. Some dialects are better known and understood for their popular use in films (Egyptian) and songs (Levantine) (Lingualy, 2015). There is a formal standardized Arabic language called Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) used for literary writing of books, newspapers and formal letters. There is an older version of Arabic, Classical Arabic known as Quranic Arabic is still being spoken today; it is also used for literary writing and

At a young age I was taught Arabic along with english at the same time, which diversified my knowledge of Middle Eastern culture with the way people spoke with each other, the way children were spoken to, and the general tone in conversation. The
I used to think that all people and countries speak Arabic language because I born in Arabic country “Yemen”. I didn’t know anyone that speaks different language or even speak different accents of Arabic. The school that I went to they didn’t teach English language. The education in Yemen is not very good like in the United States or as in the other Arab countries. For that reason, I face a lot of obstacles when I came to the United States with both the Arabic accents and the English language. Believe me a lot of things that happened to me that you will never imagine it, so here where my story begins.
The native language is Egyptian Arabic. It is known as the second language by many Arabs.
When speaking in Arabic, I am not the same person as when I speak English. Which proves that there is a definite connection between identity and language. I don’t have the same relationship between my Arabic friends and my American friends, because of the language difference. It takes my mind few seconds to translate something so I can engage in a conversation. All my thoughts, my dreams and my ideas are in Arabic and implying them to an essay or a project can be hard sometime due to language.

While I have enjoyed studying the Arabic language in the past two years, my level of proficiency is not where I would ideally hope for it to be. Learning to speak another language other than English is a highly debated subject in regards to education. Language in itself is an essential tool to everyday living, from whimsical conversations to important business meetings. Words have the power to inspire and change the world, but not everybody can understand the same words. There are hundreds of languages spoken around the globe how do we know which to speak? As noted before newer devices lacked full Arabic support in the past. Today however Arabic can be used easily in almost any device. With that in mind we still find this new writing system to be used in every day online communication. AWOS today is used mainly between the youth population. The reasons mentioned earlier has almost, gone extinct. Most operating systems, websites and mobile-devices fully support Arabic. The usage now, is not out of necessity, but rather out of personal preference. Through observing online posts and comments we can sense the general attitudes towards this style. We can notice a period of time where this style of writing was a niche, and a form of distinguish between others. Also, we can notice the current attitude of young Arabic speakers. AWOS is consider by many Arabic speakers a bad way of writing , and it will threaten the Arabic language . They view this system as combination of Arabic and English . While it is true such fears may be valid if the two languages are used together as in a hybrid of English and Spanish , Spanglish , AWOS is not the same. The writing system is not affect the language itself or cause it to go extinct. Other languages have gone through the same process of implementing Latin characters in their writing system and have not been affected. The concern is mostly due to Arabic countries that uses more languages in everyday discourse .For example , in Moroco they speak Arabic and
