Imagine the ranch is only for gymnast to train and take some time away and have a little fun with friends only. The ranch now is no longer doing that anymore.Imagine it being destroyed because of the doctor of the name of Larry Nassar. He was the USA gymnastics team doctor .He used the authority of his job and the trust of the gymnast and took it to the next level which was not helping gymnast get better, which was his job.And this goes for everyone in the world who are not doing there job of helping others, just hurting others.Imagine a world where people you trust can wreck your life and beset you for what they did to your own body without permission, which they already do.
Communicate with your children on how they feel and what is wrong with your children when abused or raped. As a wise child now adult once said “No amount of me trying to explain myself was doing any good.I didn’t even know what was going on inside of me,so how could I have explained it to them?”This feeling of hurt as person can really kill a person when looking back and thinking

In the United States today studies show that “1 in 4 women and 1 in 6 men are sexually abused before the age of 18” (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2006). Therefore that would mean 42 million adults are survivors of child abuse right here in the United States. Among these children there are 73% of children who do not tell anyone for a year, and many who never tell anyone (The Children’s Assessment Center). If we do not intervene many would say 500,000 babies will be born and sexually abused by the age of 18. It is important is it to be educated in the signs and symptoms of adult and child sexual abuse and getting involved in our own communities to stop this vicious cycle. You may or may not be a social worker or therapist but everyone can help an adult or child just by caring enough to stop and recognize the clues (The Children’s Assessment Center).
Child abuse in America is an ongoing problem and something needs to be done. There are approximately one million children abused annually in the United States. (Table 339) Cases of child abuse and neglect are reported every ten seconds, and researchers believe that there’s three times that amount that goes unnoticed. (Child Abuse: Know the Signs and Stop the Violence Against Children.) Something needs to be done for these children who are too weak and too powerless to help themselves.
Everyday children under the age of 18 are maltreated. One out of eight children throughout the U.S suffers from either physical, emotional, or sexual abuse. Unfortunately, emotional abuse is not even considered a maltreatment when people think of child abuse. When people think of child abuse the first thing they think about is physical or sexual. Now do not get me wrong, any abuse a child receives is a horrible inhuman like thing because every child is innocent and deserves to live the best life they possibly can live. Although, if we are being quite honest with ourselves nobody really notices this happens until it is mentioned later on when the child gets older. Which I do not blame anyone for because a child does not recall if something is good or bad until they have the ability to be aware of their environment. This is due to the fact that child abuse can start occurring at such an early age. This happens most during the development stage of the child because when a child is young it starts to absorb everything it sees and hears based on their surroundings. Basically, when they start noticing the difference from good or bad. The problem in this situation is that there is a high percentage rate of the youth who are diagnosed with mental disorders and are not being helped properly because most of the time the adults around them do not know how to help. The solution to this problem is simple, we should bring awareness to the main people in the child's life: their
Every day children around the world are being abused by their parents, trusted adult, caregiver and peers. Children are constantly suffering when there are things that everyone as a community can do help them. Psychologists, social workers and the victims to childhood abuse have studied and worked together to establish precautionary measures to execute child abuse all together.
For many victims, who were abused as a child find it nearly impossible to tell their parents due to fear of not being believed. No one should allow their child or siblings or cousin to go through that pain alone and to be at a point where they feel like they can’t speak up or that they just have to live through that alone. Yet some people do and children all over the world are suffering alone. On the rare occasions that these children do speak up, the adults are usually too caught up in the effect speaking up will have on their families. For many adults there is this fear of what it would cost them to speak up especially in the cases where the assaulter, the victim and the person- who knows about the assault- are related. Why do as people value financial or emotional security over a child’s safety? It is a moral duty to put the lives and safety of these helpless children over both emotional and financial security. These adults also fail to act in a way to protect the child being abuse due to fear of the effect that speaking would have on the family especially in the third world countries that prioritize men over women. Still today, there are countries where women are crimilized and judges for being sexualy assaulted and that brings shame to the family which is why rape still goes wildly unreported and
Don't be afraid to report if you feel or see anything that you feel isn't right. Children often will not report sexual abuse because they are ashamed or feel it is their fault. Children, even in situations of abuse, are concerned with getting their parent in trouble.
This is a road not to be taken alone, and the more support an individual has, the better. For a long period of time, the minds of the victims were filled with poisonous lies that weakened their self-esteem and their ability to trust. The perpetrator may have apologized and pleaded for forgiveness in many occasions, but if his or her actions do not match with that of regret, then those words were nothing but meaningless. A victim needs to comprehend that the abuse was in the past, and the best is yet to come. If they are not willing to be helped, then they will fall back down the hole they had just climbed out of. It is understandable that the victim is paranoid and unable to accept the realities of their neglect, but if he or she does not do so than they are continuing with the cycle of neglect and will most likely become the perpetrator. The article, “Cycle of child sexual abuse: links between being a victim and becoming a perpetrator”, reported that 35% of perpetrators were abuse victims as well (Glasser, Kolvin and Campbell). The risk of becoming a perpetrator is so high for the victims due to the fact that they did not have the parental teachings or guidance needed when growing up. This applies to men as well. Although, statistics and research state that they
2) Talk about it- Children often keep abuse a secret. This can be eliminated by having open
Children should not have to grow up feeling unwanted, unloved, and alone. Children are meant to be loved, cherished, and cared for. It is truly heartbreaking when I see children who are suffering emotionally and physically. A lot of children are victims of abuse, neglect, and some are victims of circumstances. I was able to see children in this situations the first time I visited the Child Crisis Center. It was a mid-September evening, when I first walked into the local Child Crisis Center. I was greeted by a lady at the front door. I signed in then she led me to a back room. When I entered the room I saw approximately fifteen children. The ages ranged from infants to six years old. Some children were playing, others were eating, and some were
Child abuse in the United States is a growing epidemic. Every year the number of reported cases, and missing children go up. This is caused mostly by lack of education about the different types of child abuse, and the signs that go along with it. Communities need to provide more resources to better educate the public about the types of abuse, and the signs that go along with it. Child abuse and neglect can be lessened by more resources, more education and to reach out to others.
Child abuse is a prevalent thing in communities and often time the victims are suffering in silence. We, as a society, have a bad habit of “turning our heads the other way” or “not wanting to get involved.” The mentality of “it’s none of our business” is an extremely dangerous mind set to have. It is time for America to step up and start helping the ones that are not able to fight for themselves. The children of our country.
Providing proper help for child abuse victims it can be considered a very expensive situation to deal with, I thinks raising charities to help victims of child abuse providing them with more health, care, resources and offering them proper academic education are some of the possible solutions that I was able to came out with and I think it will make a difference in the life of the victims of child abuse and neglect. Experts who deal with this kind of social problems should also be able to help victims of child abuse and neglect to pursue a higher education instead of letting them struggle on their own. As I mentioned before some perpetrators get prosecuted for harming poor defenseless children, I believe laws and regulations should be applied hard on them so people watch and learn that abusing a child is not just a mild offense instead they will be facing hard consequences. Therefore, analyzing the link between child abuse and criminal behavior as adults can lead to an extensive amount of outcomes and possible solutions. But finding a possible way how to effectively offer help to these
Child sexual abuse has been reported up to 80,000 times a year, but the number of unreported instances is far greater, because the children are afraid to tell anyone what has happened (American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry). Childhood sexual abuse is a traumatic experience affecting the lives of not only the victim, but those close to the victim as well. Many think there is only one person truly traumatized, but in fact, everyone involved is affected. The victim has to deal with their experience the rest of their lives. They may be more at risk for other mental issues as well, including depression. The family involved has to deal with its pain, often causing hardship and discord within the family. This is especially true
People may not be aware, but any one of their peers, friends, or neighbors may be victims of child abuse. Every day, someone experiences physical, emotional, neglect, and/or sexual abuse. Abuse can lead to death or injury for the rest of a victim's life, from either the perpetrator or themselves. In order to prevent child abuse society must: recognize the types of abuse, understand common causes of abuse, know the characteristics of abusers, and realize the effects abuse has, not just on the child, but on families and communities across the world.
Child abuse is a complex phenomenon with multiple causes and occurs in a range of situations and circumstances. Children are abused by people in a position of power above them. Child abuse is nothing but the oppression of the weak by the powerful. Children are weaker physically than their oppressors and so can be overpowered easily. If they are bold enough to raise their voice they are subjugated
