When people are asked about what they like about art, they usually say what they relate with. To me what sticks out about a piece is the story that it tells that does not have anything to do with my life. I find it fascinating to learn about the good times and the struggles of others. It is not only interesting to learn about other people’s experiences, but also humbling. It has made me realize that everyone has their own story and just because I have my own happiness does not mean that I should not care for other’s happiness. One of the easiest ways people express their feelings and tell their story is by music. Music is a tool that brings a nice sound to entice people into listening to songwriters, making to songwriter more open to sharing …show more content…
The song is about a man who has gotten to his breaking point and is going to commit suicide. His reasons for getting to this point include losing his mother and neither giving nor receiving love from anyone. The problems that he has named are all things I do not feel like I have ever connected with and hope I never connect with. I enjoy the song, while at the same time I feel as if I have learned a unique story about a troubled man. The song is humbling when I consider everything I have. He talks about losing his mother and having no one in which he feels love from. I, on the other hand, still have an extremely loving mother, who has given me everything I have ever needed. I have family and friends who I feel like care very much for me and at no point in my life will I ever have to feel like the writer of the song. I have never understood how someone could take their life but after listening to this song I see that I am very different when compared to many people and I am extremely lucky to be born into such a good circumstance. Music is a great bridge between people, encouraging people to listen to and care for other’s stories. In some cases it can make people feel like someone else is experiencing their troubles, helping them out. In other cases it can make people realize what they have, also helping them
People listen to music for a variety of reasons. Some listen to music to relax in which it serves as a sort of escape from everyday life, some because they are a fan and follow a certain artist, and others because they can relate the lyrics to their own personal experiences. Whichever the case may be, music has and continues to serve an important role in people’s lives.
In the world today, music has become a big influence on everyone. With the power of music, each person has the ability to accomplish goals even if the music is country or rap. Most people believe that music can change a person’s mood or behavior which is true. Without music people could not control the way they act. Most music has the power to affect a person’s mood and other music can get them out of control. If music did not exist the world would be tedious. Without having music, people would not be able to motivate their moods. With the magic of music all people tend to have clear minds and better spirits. Music has the ability to put a smile on their face and a special song in their hearts. Even though most people feel confident about a special song, this can change their mind about how country music is better than rap music.
Throughout history people listened to music and used it for various different things. In the earliest of times music was used to help emphasize story telling(Young 11). As centuries went on music became more prominent in everyday things and eventually was used for social occasions like festivals and weddings(Young 82). Today we use music for everything from recreational to rehabilitating people. We use music to express ourselves and say things we don’t know how to say. Music is an outlet for people now-a-days. What people don’t realize is that music is basically a medicine. It helps us rehabilitate people, calm them down, keep our bodies in rhythm, and it is used to help people with disabilities function better in society. The only thing is is that people don’t know how to properly use music to help themselves and others. But music is beneficial to people’s health!
Music is like the wardrobe to Narnia. It sends an individual into a whole new world and causes one to forget about the world and problems they are living in now. In the novel A Long Way Gone: Memoir of a Boy Soldier by Ishmael Beah, Beah becomes a child soldier unwillingly during a civil war in Sierra, Leone when he is twelve years old. All he had was his rap music that kept him going. In Ishmael Beahs novel he uses detail and diction to highlight how music provides a means by which ones life can be saved by the power of music, can temporarily escape the harsh realities of life, and can connect to happier times.
For as long as mankind has walked on this earth, music has been an important part of our culture and lifestyles. Each walk of life beats to a different drum. Different cultures use music for many aspects of their lives; for religious purposes, for celebrations, for comfort, for sorrow, for relaxation, for sports, for dances, for energy, for learning, for sleeping, and for sexual experiences. Everyone uses music for something. Music connects with people and reaches them in ways that words simply cannot. Music is a representation of what feelings sound like. It expresses emotion and brings that characteristic out from within us; it tells us a story. Every generation has its’ own sound and different music styles have emerged and become

For others, it is a brief flicker in their bright lives. This song is for the ones who cannot seem to get rid of this feeling. The singer knows what it is like to feel this way because he is the same way or he would not be singing this song. He is trying to get his
Music, “…one of the most widely used and appealing forms of communication…”, is universal and used for different purposes (Root, 2005, p. 7). Among the uses are “…play or entertainment, which humans of all ages engage in to stimulate feelings of joy, tension, and interaction, and enrich their experiences by adding mental complexity, counteracting boredom and lethargy” (Root, 2005, p. 7). In addition, music expresses “…emotions such as love, sentiment, or anger” (Root, 2005, p. 7). Ultimately, it communicates values showing the reality of society and culture. Anyone listening to “a few records [helps] enrich [their] feelings, extend [their] sense of love or despair, and feed [their] fantasies or fire some real relationship” (Cooper & Haverkos,
In the end, the beautiful sound that is music brings us is the one of the best ways to connect us all to one another. Music is a way to communicate and show a little piece of us to
Music is something we hear everyday whether it be from our phones,in our cars,or background music wherever we go. Over the years there have been numerous types of music that have different beats, sounds, and different emotions. Such types of music is hip hop and rap, alternative music, and rock and roll music. Music has a long time line and every single sound and type of music is intertwined within each other and influenced by each other. For these reasons music not only defines a type of sound but also recreates lifestyles and defines entire generations. The power of music can be seen from all different types of music.
Music is undoubtedly one of the most influential art forms on the planet. Music is essential to the lives of many people all over the world. People listen to music when they wake up, on their way to work, with friends, and even when they are alone. For many people music is like a constant companion. Music can bring feelings of joy and motivation and accompany people in difficult times.
Music is the one thing in this world that we all share if we like it or not. We won’t all ways have the same taste but there enough to be shared and show. Music is a vocal or instrumental sounds (or both) combined in such a way as to produce beauty of form, harmony, and expression of emotion. And if you have that kind of feeling into your music then what is the point of having it. Music can make you feel love, gloom, calm, happiness, and even other feelings you might not know how to express out for the world.
“I think music in itself is healing. It 's an explosive expression of humanity. It 's something we are all touched by. No matter what culture we 're from, everyone loves music.” Billy Joel was right when he identified the best qualities of music; however, there are some problems caused by music as well. I personally think music is the number one societal problem in the world. This whole world is in love with music, including myself. Music is the number one thing people listen to when they are feeling sad or happy. More than one million songs are being produced every year. Regardless of whether the music is good or bad. Today we have all types of music: country music, gospel music, R&B music, Pop music, and Hip Hop music. The music we listen to is not all that terrible, like gospel music because it is decent music with no profanity.
Music is a huge part of our everyday life. Many people don’t realize that music plays a significant role in in the way it affects the human brain. It connects and helps us share experiences with loved ones, friends, and random acquaintances. The variety of genres lets us explore the different emotions as we listen to specific songs, whether or not its pop, hip-hop/ rap, indie, country, rock/ heavy & death metal, classical, dance, jazz, blues, soul, reggae, and opera. Psychologists seem to believe the answer lies within the rhythm, tone, lyrics, and melody of the music. A great and inspiring songwriter/ vocalist, Mitch Lucker, said, “Keep listening to music, cause it gets you through everything. I promise.” My question is, why do people turn to music rather than friends or family? Considering this, what is it about music that helps us through difficult obstacles in life? According to many psychologist music can affect mood, health, mind, and learning ability.
