In The Myth of the Latin Woman: I Just Met a Girl Named Maria written by Judith Ortiz Cofer, a Latin female poet, she mentioned about the situation of the Latinas. She described how the people in the world think of the Latinas; people usually recognize them as more early mature and more open. For example, she says that one of her friends has commented the Puerto Rican girls as girls who always stood out for wearing, which means that they often wear too much accessories, too much jewelry. Also, when she attend a party, a boy offended her with a sloppy overeager kiss and saying that Latin girls were supposed to mature early when Judith did not respond his with sufficient passion.
