Antibiotics can be used to treat L. pneumophila infections. A common antibiotic used to treat this infection is Levaquin. The mechanism of action for this drug is to prevent the multiplication and repair of the bacteria’s genetic material. To do this, levaquin inhibits topoisomerase IV and DNA gyrase, and these are enzymes necessary for DNA replication, DNA maintenance and repair, transcription, and recombination.
Peter Lalor shaped the face of Australia’s democracy as we know it today. Without his bravery and leadership in the nineteenth century Australia would never have been the same wealthy country as it is today.
Ruby Laffoon (January 15, 1869 – March 1, 1941) was a politician from the U.S. Commonwealth of Kentucky. He was the Commonwealth's 43rd governor, serving from 1931 to 1935. At age 17, Laffoon moved to Washington, D.C. to live with his uncle, U.S. Representative Polk Laffoon. He developed an interest in politics and returned to Kentucky, where he compiled a mixed record of victories and defeats in elections at the county and state levels. In 1931, he was chosen as the Democratic gubernatorial nominee by a nominating convention, not a primary, making him the only Kentucky gubernatorial candidate to be chosen by a convention after 1903. In the general election, he defeated Republican William B. Harrison by what was then the largest margin of victory
In 1788, Israel Ludlow, Matthias Denman, and Robert Patterson bought 800 acres of land from John Cleves Symmes along the Ohio River at the mouth of Licking River. John had purchased 2,000,000 acres of land from the Confederation Congress in 1787 and hoped to become rich by selling parts of the purchase to others. By early January 1789, Israel had planned out the town, dividing it into two types of lots. Israel, Matthias, and Robert provided the first 30 settlers with two free lots, one of each type. The men named the town Losantiville. The town grew slowly at first. Settlers had constructed twenty cabins and one frame house. Eleven families and two dozen single men lived on the land. Eventually it increased in size.

Hawaii a huge tourist hotspot due to its lovable culture and beautiful landscape, is home to the volcano Hauna Loa, considered the largest volcano on the earth, located on the island of Hawaii which also holds four others is currently sleeping after its rude awakening roughly thirty years ago but it’s not certain when she might erupt again. Mauna Loa takes us more than half, due to technology that has been so fine-tuned that it could predict an eruption months before the actual event. There was a scare about ten years ago where scientist believed it could definitely erupt due to the amount of magma going into the magma chamber, but miraculously the magma camber was expanded and created more room for the magma to collect in. Another eruption

When Los Lobos perform in concert today, audiences in the thousands cheer them on. It’s hard to believe that the group started out as just another garage band playing popular rock-and-roll tunes from the radio. In 1974 four high school friends from East Los Angeles formed Los Lobos (Spanish for “The Wolves”). David Hidalgo and César Rosas played guitar, Conrad Lozano played bass guitar, and Louie Pérez played drums.
There are many urban legends out there today. The story can vary based on the teller but the plot remains similar throughout every story. One of my personal favorite legends is La Llorona, which means the weeping one. La llorona was a very beautiful woman who lived a good life, until an unfortunate event changed her life forever.

La Llorona is to Mexican and Chicano children, what the Bogeyman is to American kids. La Llorona is almost like a mythical monster made to scare kids into good behavior. The story is about a women who drowns her children after she is betrayed by her husband. Later, her spirit returns and roams the streets while she weeps, in search of her kids. I am sure that stories of La Llorona are almost like a household name in every Mexican home. I remember when i was a little kid, my summer days, were spent playing outside until the sunset. I’d rush home before the sun went down, because if got too dark then I’d fear that La Llorona would be lurking somewhere in the back alleys. But why is La Llorona lurking in Denver’s back alleys? Well, even though
To what extent was the reformer obsessed with achieving an impractical goal through fanatical or impractical means?
There are many urban legends that persist to this day. Some are told as traditions throughout families, while some are told as part of their culture. Urban legends are still told today because some people believe in certain legends, or want to scare others. One legend that is part of the Hispanic culture and is still told today is La Llorona/ The Weeping Woman.
Have you ever heard the legend about La Llorona known as “The Weeping Women”?Do you hear that? Do you hear that crying noise? People say that if you hear her cry expect death! La Llorona is real, even though people say she is she is an urban legend. There has been sightings of her in many places.

Sequoyah was a Cherokee Indian who created the Cherokee language. He was born around 1760 to 1765 in the village of Tuskeegee, Tennessee. His mother was the daughter of a Cherokee chief, and his father was a Virginia fur-trader. Sequoyah was married to a Cherokee and was a silversmith. Because the white soldiers could read and write letters, Sequoyah became inspired to create a written and spoken language during War of 1812, and he taught it to his daughter Ayoka. Sequoyah was a very important figure in Cherokee life.
