Lazy Daze Dude Ranch is indeed of a way to maintain customers, employees and its business transactions as it grows. However, the ranch not only needs to grow but it needs to flourish. Currently, the managers (the daze family) are having work overload and it has become challenging to satisfy customers and employees while managing business activities. Aside from leisure time, the daze family is having trouble with managing sales and employee payroll. Furthermore, keeping track of sales (Room rentals and activities) and employee work hours. In addition, the Daze family lack the time to generate monthly and weekly reports. Hence, there is a need for an additional employee. Implementation of a computer-based system will help the business flourish.

There are three jobs at the Old Tyme Bracket and Hanger factory that need to be redesigned for the company’s and employees benefit. These three jobs have been identified as being the worst jobs in the company due to the routine and monotonous characteristics of these job tasks. Even though these jobs are quite simple, there are a high amount of errors being made due to the high levels of boredom and the lack of responsibility associated with these tasks. According to Old Tyme the turnover rate for these positions is more than 100% per year. I have constructed some possible alternatives regarding the design of these jobs that would be beneficial to productivity and to the employees who currently work in these positions.
Since the age of 15 I have worked at the Dairy Queen in Montvale, NJ. The Montvale Dairy Queen was opened in 1957 by a family with the last name of Stoll and since then it has remained in their family. Helena Maria Viramontes grew up in Los Angeles where relatives used to stay and live with her family when making the transition from Mexico to the United States. This is where she got her first taste of the lives of immigrants in this country within the urban barrios. Viramontes's writing reflects this theme along with expressing her political opinions on the treatments of immigrants, especially Chicanos and Latinos. In her short story "The Cariboo Café," Viramontes brings these ideas to life through three sections narrated by different individuals tied into the story.
