Leadership Challenge Case Analysis The purpose of my leadership challenge involves the struggles in creating an online community of gamers, who enjoy first person strategic combat simulation, and bringing them together as a unified team. With the view of first person, you are seeing what things would look like if you were in the game, and it helps to create a more realistic and immersive experience. The creation of the group was the easy part. The areas of concern involved the organization of individuals; creating rules, incorporating discipline, collaboration of individuals and other clans, maintaining harmony within the group, responsibilities and task assignment, and the appointment of leadership. Another area of concern is that many of the group members are either young, or do not have any military background. It is much different to give direction, or an order to a civilian than it is with military personnel, who have certain values instilled in them; such as the Navy’s core values of honor, courage, and commitment. This is where things begin to get interesting. Furthermore, if this were not enough, I am the self-proclaimed leader of the group, and in charge of making all of the decisions while balancing my home life, and school work. When I first created the group, I thought it was a good idea to have a type of high council; to have four leaders of equal rank, in which we could draw on each other’s strengths.
