Leadership Credibility: Four Traits Tested Through Time The bottom line in today’s business and personal affairs that affects organizations and influences individuals is the phenomenon called leadership. People whom possess this scholarly debated persona all have a story to tell and no two are the same. Leaders are from all walks of life and there is no stereotype that a leader has to be recognized due to position. Frankly, leadership can be acknowledged by a set of skills and or trait abilities that whomever wishes to acquire those traits “can improve their competency in these areas through training and experience” (Northouse, 2016, p. 56), and Kouzes et al, 2012 “are available to anyone” (p.30). If you are considered a leader, you are most likely to have these skills or traits embedded into your fabric, influencing of fundamental relationships, and interaction between groups or organizational communication. One is said to have leadership ability, skill or trait if the person is of honesty, forward- looking, competent, and inspiring in perception of those whom the leader is influencing.
