Describe your computer skills and level of proficiency, including software, word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, web-based applications, and database development. As a Traffic Systems Technician (TST) for WSDOT, used a variety of computer systems and vendor software interfaces to maintain & repair: Variable Message Signs, Close Circuit Television systems, Traffic Signal Controllers and associated communications equipment. Day-to day inner-office activities developed Outlook, Word, and Excel skills to exchange information and report completed tasks. As a member of the TST training team used Power Point to develop and present training. Continuing education efforts has refined skills using MS Office suite to complete assignments and presentations, along with familiarization with Google Docs and developing a Google Blog site. Thomas Gordon's book, Leadership Effectiveness Training. Dr. Gordon's book and compiling the presentation confirmed believe in employee stewardship. From this presentation, as a work group we generated a list of possible actions or solutions that could help the department with contract inspection and enforcement. The list was forwarded to the regional manager for comment and/or possible implementation. A 2013 safety meeting on hydration, from a 2012 graduate course in Sustainable Leadership & Decision Making, shared a decision making tool called the Sustainable Action Map (SAM). The graduate course strengthened my belief that thinking together, not necessarily thinking alike, builds long term dynamic partnerships.
