For decades, leadership theories have been the source of numerous studies. In reality as well as in practice, many have tried to define what allows authentic leaders to stand apart from the mass! Hence, there as many theories on leadership as there are philosophers, researchers and professors that have studied and ultimately published their leadership theory. School is a good example of an organization in this situation. Management theories are implemented to help increase organizational productivity and service quality. Not many managers use a singular theory or concept when implementing strategies in the workplace: They commonly use a combination of a number of theories, depending on the workplace, purpose and workforce. Contingency theory, chaos theory and systems theory are popular management theories. Theory X and Y, which addresses management strategies for workforce motivation, is also implemented to help increase worker productivity. The behavioral management theory is often called the human relations movement because it addresses the human dimension of work. Behavioral theorists believed that a better understanding of human behavior at work, such as motivation, conflict, expectations, and group dynamics, improved productivity. any managers tend towards Theory X, and generally get poor results especially over the longer term. Enlightened managers mostly use Theory Y, which produces better performance and results, and allows people to grow and develop. The situational and behavioral theories were two completely different theories. These theories were pretty close together in time periods, however the behavioral which came first stated there is one best way to lead, whereas the situational theory said there was not.
