Learning is not something that comes easily to many people. There are those that have an exceptional memory, they can retain information more quickly than others. For the rest of us, it takes some patience, a positive attitude and willingness to learn. Leamnson explains that we can learn through understanding and remembering. Reading, reviewing notes and past assignments, studying with a friend or a group, and doing research on the subject that you are learning about will help you remember what you are trying to understand. The article by Rosenwald looks at the problems associated with online reading, where we tend to scan and skim through passages without fully focusing on what we are reading. When reading from a screen we tend to jump from one interesting fact to another, but missing out on what was in between. Rereading can help us comprehend what we just read. …show more content…

Each individual has their own interests. I find that I have a better attitude when I read or research something that I am interested in. However, I am going to look at topics that do not interest me from a different perspective. Applying his idea of verbalization to a writing class or any other classes would be beneficial to remembering what you have learned. Flash cards are one of my favorite ways to review, especially on those “not so interesting” subjects.
We can gain knowledge through learning in several different ways, such as reading a book or by using technology. There are pros and cons to both ways of reading; the internet has a vast majority of information, whereas books are limited to what is written inside. Whichever way we choose to read we need to remember to stay
