Left Versus Right Brain and Learning Essay

Each person has a governing hemisphere and once learning becomes a technical process, the idyllic portion of the brain takes charge of solving the issue at hand. There are two sides of the brain, which are the left and the right brain. These directly influence learning and produce different ways of receiving, storing and responding to information that ultimately affects our whole learning process. Even though the learning process improves as a result of the two hemispheres functioning together, human beings are expected to process information based on their dominant hemisphere. The positive effects on the left side brain learners are they can easily and quickly evoke names rather than appearances. Left sided learners are also highly systematized and have great time management skills. They also enjoy creating lists to organize their plans in their day to day activites (Lucas, 2008). Left brainers are more likely to thrive in certain careers such as; computer programmers, accounting firms, engineering plants and numerous more technical career fields. People who are left brain dominate are more sequential where on the other hand, people who are right brain dominate are more visual learners. For instance, instead of workbook learning they perfer projects and discussions (Education Alliance, 2014). The main focus of the right brain is visual, which means they process information in an expressive way and they like to show creativity in their work (Cherry, 2014). People who are dominate in their right brain prefer to learn by visually grasping the whole picture first, and then eyeing at the specifics later on. Where as left brained people would pay more attention to detail first. Students with a right brain dominance should integrate a number of hands on activities, which will help with learning the assignment (Education Alliance, 2014).
