For as long as I could remember my ultimate goal in life has always had to deal with health care; I want to help as many people as I can in a variety of different aspects. Regardless if it is nursing or a physician assistant this is a career choice I’ve always saw myself pursuing. I could easily see myself waking up everyday and surrounding myself in a hospital setting; I’m not sure what it is but I enjoy that fast pace environment the hospital has and the variety of different environments I could put myself in while I take care of my patients. I hope to have personal, one on one relationships with patients because I find establishing close relationships with any patient you have helps in regards to their own comfort. I’m mildly content with being managed, I do not necessary want to manage others; I find I enjoy having a structure and someone to tell me what I am doing right or wrong appose to it being myself correcting my own actions without any guidance.

The U.S. Health Services System (HSS) is a market based system in which individuals are required to purchase healthcare individually or through an employer. At this time the U.S. HSS is not available to everyone despite the industrialization that the nation has rather it is available to those who can afford it. The U.S. HSS is a broad mixture of services such as hospitals, nursing homes, long term care, emergency care, vaccinations and a myriad of other health related services. The U.S HSS is a mixture of public, private and voluntary programs funded by federal, state and private monies.

I chose a career in healthcare management because it aligns my personality with my purpose. Childhood has a great effect on how a person turns out to be so I hope to help children I hope to use prevention and education to preserve and restore the health of my patients. Currently, I am trying to secure a Medical Officer position with the federal government and work with urban, rural, or native Indian communities. Although my professional emphasis was in General Surgery, recently I obtained the British Membership of the Royal College of Physicians to shift to Internal Medicine and be able treat ailments common among unprivileged communities. The program of study I decided to pursue my career in, is receiving a Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration. Healthcare Administration is a very a strong and reliable field of study/ career. To begin with a Healthcare Admin is someone that directs, manages, coordinates departments, employees, and medical records, as well as billing and coding. They work in specific places like hospitals, clinics, and nursing homes. Healthcare Administrator’s also must keep up with the healthcare laws in their state, as well federal laws.
