Les Harper was called to serve in BYUH as senior missionary. He grew up in an entrepreneurship family. His grandfather, parents, and siblings all had built their own business. He is proud of his entrepreneurship gene. He shared his family story and his own experiences to teach principles about what makes a successful entrepreneur. The first thing he shared was that his skill set has limitation. Thus, he hired people who are more skillful than him to work with him as a team. He then used his salary to pay the loan for his banana bike, which made every kid admired. He learned that he has ability to work, and work brings benefit while he was still little. In this classroom Coach talks to the team and he starts every meeting by writing one word on the white board. Each meeting has a different word that we talk about, and each word means a lot to the team and to him. The four main words that we have heard from him so far are family, trust, believe, and selflessness. From there Coach speaks about what each word means and how the words shape good character and personality. And while Coach is up in the front of the room teaching everyone how to succeed I always say to myself that Coach’s character is made up of those words that he puts up on the board. So when I look at Coach’s life and what he has to go through it shows that he is a one of a kind man and that his character makes him push through every hardship that comes his way. For him to go through all that he does and still succeed in life takes a very powerful
You have to know what is it that you lack and either try to learn about it or search for ways that your team could cover for the capabilities that you lack.
