On July 8, 1776, a 2080 pound bronze bell rang out in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, marking America’s independence, known as the Liberty Bell. This bell indicated the reading of The Declaration of Independence, which declared the thirteen original colonies’ separation from Great Britain. According to US History, the bell honored the 50th year anniversary of William Penn’s 1701 Charter of Privileges, also known as Pennsylvania’s original constitution. Four days earlier, delegates adopted The Declaration of Independence but didn’t announce the issue of the document until it returned from the printer. In 1777, the British advancement led to the immediate relocation of the bell to Allentown. Also, the removal of the bell allowed restriction of the British to melt it down for production of cannons. The British’s defeat allowed for the bell to be returned to its home in Philadelphia shortly after the American Revolution. The Independence National Historical Park is a 40 acres long park that consists of most of Pennsylvania’s most important and visited historic sites. Most of the park sites and historic landmarks are located within the neighborhoods of Old City and Society Hill. The “Internet of Things” is a simple term used by tech geeks to describe the everyday electronics that connect and communicate to one another via the world wide web. So, how does the communication of millions of machines benefit humanity? And to a greater degree, can these devices behave badly like a toy from Island of Misfit Toys?
A “hot topic” in rising discussion is the bottled water versus tap debate. In places where water, especially clean water is seemingly abundant, we don’t often think about where it comes from or how we drink it. Most people in first world countries would say that they use both tap and bottled water. If you have access to healthy clean tap water why not use it and move away from plastic bottled water. There has been an argument over this topic for quite a while. Bottled water is non-sustainable but if we use water wells or water towers there is a reduced expense both environmental and economical.
