The purpose of this memo is to explain how I adapted my letter and resume to a specific job. I initially started by browsing online through the website that I am familiar with such as monster.com and careerbuilder.com.
While searching for a Licensed Vocational Nurse employment, I came across an advertised position through careerbuilder.com that was posted two weeks ago. After reading the job requirements carefully, I learned that the company is looking to hire a Licensed Vocational Nurse. The job requires the candidate to have a high school diploma, current Texas LVN/LPN license with a minimum of 2-5 years hand-on patient experience and someone with a strong attention to detail and organizational skills. In addition, I have also come to find
The purpose of this letter is to express my interest in the Employment Supports Coordinator position currently open in the Maryland Employment department. I presently fulfill the role of the Day Program Lead at the Maryland Day Program. My supervisor is Janae Householder, Day Program Coordinator.
My experience as a C.N.A., medical assistant, and with customer service experience, I feel as if I will excel in the Licensed Vocational Nurse position. With all this I feel great confidence that along with an education at Concorde Career College, I
A good protocol is created from evidence-based medical practices agreed on by medical staff involved in anticoagulation therapy (i.e., all stakeholders) and addresses key decision points and respective courses of action integrated with the clinical judgment and experience of the practitioner.
Nursing is a profession concerned with human responses to actual and potential health problems. Nursing focuses on the care of individuals, families, and communities so they may attain, maintain, or recover optimal health and quality of life. The best qualities that every nurse should have is being compassionate, understanding, honest, and ethical. Nursing offers a variety of specialty areas to further your knowledge. In the future, I would like to aspire for a certification in the specialty area of anesthesia. To become a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA), it is important to keep in mind the many years of study that is required, why CRNAs are important in the healthcare field, and the job outlook along with the best places to work.
Certified Nursing Assistant Introduction: A CNA, a Certified Nursing Assistant, is a person in the health care field who helps patients or clients with healthcare needs under the supervision of a Registered nurse or a Licensed Practical Nurse. CNAs are the backbone of nursing. They are the foundation that makes patient care possible and easier for everybody. Being a CNA is not always an easy job but they will do what needs to be done.
After graduation these newly graduated family nurse practitioners seeks licensure to begin their practice from the state they intend to practice in. “The State Boards of Nursing regulate nurse practitioners and each state has its own licensing and certification criteria”, so depending on the state further certification may be required. The American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and the American Nurses Credentialing Center are two credentialing bodies that offer further certifications. Family nurse practitioners graduate with Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree and a Master of Science in Nursing degree. At this point it is time for the newly licensed and certified FNP to seek employment (Remedy Health Media, 2001).
One conversation that I have had with my co-workers and boss which was certainly a debatable topic was the pay of a CNA. Certified Nursing Assistants duties and responsibilities are basically care for the elderly as they are not able to do it themselves. This includes many things that most individuals would never do. I believe that CNA’s should be paid just as much as a nurse or LVN, and not minimum pay as it is such a hard job. Its not the same as working at the mall as a sales associate or a fast food place, and most times these jobs tend to get paid more. My boss who is an RN, certainly disagreed with me as she paid so much for her education, and I honestly understand that because I am working towards my BSN, its beyond expensive. She made
The first step to becoming a Pediatric Registered Nurse is to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. This takes about 3 to 4 years. Getting into a nursing program is highly competitive and requires the best grades and GPA. After graduating, you must pass the national licensing exam called the NCLEX-RN to be able to work as a Registered Nurse. After gaining experience from training with children with different diseases or health issues, you can continue education and receive a certification in pediatric nursing. A Pediatric Nurse’s range salary would be between $52,000 to $88,000, depending on where you work and the employer. Nurses have been increasing demand and their employment will be rising for the next decades.
As the years go by, the nursing field is expanding. Different types of nurses are being needed for a variety of jobs in the nursing field. This field of work is especially one of the most important because the world will always need nurses. Although the nursing field is very competitive to get into, the need for nurses increases rapidly as time goes on. A CRNA, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist, is one of the most popular fields being practiced. A Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist is a step further than a Registered Nurse. Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists are advanced nurses that specialize in anesthesia. CRNA’s provide anesthesia care for millions of patients in the United States of America. Anesthesia is a form of medicine that puts a person that is undergoing surgery to sleep while also numbing the pain. There are many steps in the process to becoming a CRNA, it is a very serious field, therefore it requires more experience and training.
The US News ranked a Nurse Anesthetist number 4 in the top 100 best jobs of 2016. Although satisfying, a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) is a highly stressful nursing specialty (Phillips, 2010). According to Gouveia (2016), a registered nurse is ranked top 5 in most stressful jobs. Some of the brightest and best CRNAs, even past presidents of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA) have taken their own life because of addiction (Quinlan, 2009). Substance abuse and addiction is a well-known topic unfortunately, it continues to be an issue and struggle everyday for some anesthesia providers. CRNAS are well-educated individuals; however, the prevalence, and relapse rates for substance abuse are alarming. The
Teenagers have enough stress as it is right? Adolescence is an awkward time of transition from childhood to adulthood which can be more than scary for most. Between spending time with family, making friends, doing homework, participating in sports or other recreational activities, and growing up in general, who has time to get a job? Although it can add to the stress of teenage life, getting a job has more pros than cons. My experience working as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at Morgantown Care and Rehabilitation Center has been a learning experience about responsibility, patience, and compassion.
My chosen career is a registered nurse with a specialty in neonatal medicine. I am very passionate about helping others and learning how the human body all works together as a coordinated system. Currently I work as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) where I assist elderly residents with tasks that vary from getting dressed to making sure they are as comfortable as possible. While I thoroughly enjoy working with all of the residents at the nursing home, I am ready for a new challenge. I would like to gain more knowledge in order to help even more people with a wide variety of issues. I am interested to see what it takes to move up the career ladder in the nursing field. As well as what to expect as far as education requirements, salary, and the outlook of nursing jobs. In order to learn more about registered nursing I have scheduled an interview with Stacy Helmuth, a registered nurse at Shawnee Mission Medical Center.
My personal goal is turning into a director of nursing (DON), after securing the necessary supervisory competencies required. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree or above is required for most DON positions, where many of DONs are having a master's degree. This position requires an expert level in leadership and communication skills to manage registered nurses and practical nurses, and they collaborate with patients and specialists, so past supervisory experience is essential (Study.com, 2016). As I am very close to completing my BSN, and having worked as a registered nurse and a nurse supervisor for the last fourteen years, I could realize this goal. I will spend more time to expand my management and leadership skills as well as
In the Certified Nurses Assistant or CNA services, you have to be trained. The training for being a CNA you need to have basic nursing principles and do clinical work while being supervised. You also have to be qualified to be one. You need to have your High School diploma or GED, nursing assistant training, which is about 6-12 weeks, basic training skills, Anatomy/physiology credit, and infection control.
On Wednesday (1/25/17), I started my internship! On the first day, I was introduced to my supervisors, Glinda O’Neill, and began orientation. During orientation, I was introduced to other staff (i.e. nurses, psychiatrists, rec therapist, case managers, interns). On Thursday and Friday, I spent all my time observing therapeutic groups, family sessions, individual therapy, and treatment teams. This week, one major issue that aroused dealt with one substance abuse patient that purposely caused tension between other patients, attempted to split staff, and was very disrespectful to staff. The patient’s psychiatrist and LSCW had to decide whether to discharge the patient, who was voluntary, or allow the patient to stay on the floor. After treatment team, the staff decided to discharge the patient on the upcoming Monday. I agree with their decision because keeping the patient would be detrimental to the floor/patients.
